Straight from The Globalizer, confirmation of the changes:
Here's how it works now:
* Basic trophies (pieces of tier 1 lures from rare mobs in Chult) drop more often.
* Hunt trophies (pieces of tier 2 and tier 3 lures) drop 100% of the time.
* +5 rings drop much more often.
This also applies to the hunts in Omu!

My personal stats for these rings:(this shows how random it is)
Beast: I got it on my 2nd Arachne Lure.
Undead, Goblin, and Dino rings: I did 29 lures for these solo, then finally grouped up one night and got all 3 in 8, EIGHT lures total. I had previously done 75 lures for these 3 until I grouped up that night and we got them one after the other!
Yuan-Ti: Finally got it at lure #137!
Total lures used 235, about 40% in groups, more than 50% were for the Yuan-Ti.

Helpful Notes:

Where to get the +5 Rings:
You do NOT have to have the Hunts unlocked to do the Hunts, the unlock only makes it so you can craft the lures from the Trophies. Otherwise, you can give your trophies to someone else who can craft them, then do the hunts that way.
It will cost 100 Forgotten Totems to unlock the One Star Hunts lure crafting, another 125 Totems to unlock Two Star Hunts lure crafting, and 150 more to unlock the Three Star Hunt lure crafting, King of Spines.
Don't confuse the King of Spines HE with the King of Spines Hunt!

Ring of the Undead Slayer +5:
Spili-Ti Hunt -- One Star
Thazar-De/Zulkir Hunt -- Two Star

How to make the Lures for the different Hunts:
There are 7 different enemy types in Chult that can drop the trophies needed for the lures. To make lures for Level 2 and 3 Hunts, you have to use trophies that drop in Level 1, then level 2 hunts.
The rare enemies that can drop the Level 1 lure trophies are these:
(you have to kill the common mobs to get a chance for the rare mob to spawn)
Smilodon: Smilodon's Tooth (common mobs are Chultan Tigers)
Rotting Ogre: Rotting Ogre’s Femur (common mobs are undead)
Batiri Brave: Batiri Brave’s Trinket (common mobs are Batiri)
Eotyrannus: Eotyrannus Talon (common mobs are Deinonychus)
Bigclaw: Bigclaw’s Pincer (common mobs are Crabs)
Venomtail: Venomtail Poison (common mobs are Scorpions)
Tyrannosaurus Rex: Tyrannosaurus Fang (common mob is the regular Tyrannosaur)
These enemies are not involved with the lures at all:
Allosaurs, Bears, Compys, Lions, Tarantulas, Thayans, and Velociraptors.

About getting all 5 +5 Rings: as of January 18th, 2019, I think I'm actually going to try for this! Previously, in my 2300+ hours I have gotten one +5 ring. Thanks to the community for complaining to Arc Games so much, they have made this massively easier and don't plan to include such a ridiculous achievement again!

Nah the other one is just all types or whatever. This one is by far the worst and the devs finally convinced me to cash out of this game. I will be liquidating all my NVW assets (probably over 100mil AD worth) and will never look back.
SO GLAD I had already decided to quit chasing 100% completion in general over a year ago. Makes this decision SO much easier. Fuck the devs for thinking an achievement like this, which amounts to "play for literally THOUSANDS of hours and pray for RNG" was a GOOD idea.

I'm wondering if rank 2 hunts have a higher drop chance for +5 rings with respect to rank 1... and, consequently, rank 3 higher than rank 2. Do you have any idea/proof?

yes took about 300 ish hunts to get 1st +5 ring :) then 3 of the rings dropped in like 20 ish hunts from each hunt they drop from very lucky :) then about 700 ish hunts before inbetween and after all that to get last ring lol :) sinse 12th september i play 10 ish hours a day farming fangs and trading smops for lures/trophys spent like 20 to 30 mil on smops :( i neely broke :( i herd 1 guy done 1700 hunts only 2 +5 rings :( this cheevo a big joke and shud be changed some how :)

the cheevo is a joke thu needs to b changed like how they let us trade lostmouth set next to guy in onclave only way i think of say if u get 1 ring :) let u trade to other rings

2 Undead +5's dropped last night in a small batch of lures I was doing with some friends.. I forgot one of the lures was mine, so let my friend have the +5.... Other than that, I'm dulled to the pain, I wasn't even excited when the +5 dropped. Yet it was only the 2nd I can remember ever seeing in my time playing.

did loads more slip ti death was they like 10 days putting in like 30 to 50 a day :) same with dender but only like a week say 20 to 40 ish a day :) all dam ribs and staffs taking up space good job we had a 3rd to mail stuff to for storidge lol :)

If i calculated correctly it took you 22days, so 220 hours to get the achievement.
It would take me roughly 5 and a half month to get it. IF im as lucky with the drops, IF i had as much AD (wich i dont, lol) and IF i only play this
Nop Nop not gonna torture myself with this 
the devs gotta chance it

yes i hope they change it even thu i spent all that AD :) i just glad to have it out of the way :) il keep rings to trade or sell to others but dont think they wil unbound em from account :( they will have to put a guy ingame who u can trade 1 ring for the rest 1 time only thing :) like how they let u with lostmouth set after they narf/fixed it :) say if we trade rings for leg pack or 50 smop then just trade back to help with cheevo :) like i sed thu dont think they unbound em :(

Yea hopefully it's changed but I might not be playing much, my poor underpowered 15.5k SW can't even get in a T9G run and now with the intended changes to OBC being confirmed my desire to continue playing this game as much as I used to has died.

Seems like Beast is the most generous ring. I got mine after only a few Karkinos runs.
Also there seems to be no truth to the in game rumors that help from people outside your group kill your drop rate. I got the +5 when a dozen randoms slayed my hunt.
I've also gotten a +4 Undead and Beast on hunts that i have died on and ran back to before they left

I have absolutely and completely given up on 100% of Neverwinter. Haven't done a single hunt in weeks now. Been playing a lot of other games actually.

I'm feeling optimistic about an inceased drop rate, if they do implement anything it probably won't come until mod 13-14 unfortunately for now all we can do is wait, grind or offer up 50 SMOP in the Chult for a single ring.

Yeah I’m finally close. I just need goblin 5 and undead 5. If I can get the goblin 5 farming ogre femurs should piece easy. The was definitely the most expensive achievement I’ll have ever done.

Also, I talked to the moderators on Arc forums that have spoken with the devs and they alluded to me that the devs pls to increase the drop rate once “chult content and its gear is no longer relevant.”

My recommendation is to farmdor the tier 2 sirrush hunt for anyone seriously attempting this achievement. Sirrush is the ONLY hunt that consistently drops dino rings and it’s a tier 2. If you can’t grind/afford that ring then you may as well stop grinding.
KoS drops a RANDOM plus 4 or plus 5 ring so if you’re farmig KOS for other gear do that first so you don’t kill yourself grinding an undead just to drop an undead on the KoS.

Here are my currents stats for those interested. 120 spli ti, 2 undead rings. 260 karkinos, 2 beast slayer rings. 400 clawgraze, 2 goblin rings. 160 sirrush hunts, 1 Dino ring. 300 dendar hunts, 0 yuan ti rings. So, 1240 hunts for 7 rings for approximately a .5 percent drop rate.

Unlocked the achievement last night. It's a grind but very doable, albeit a little luck is needed. I probably would've unlocked it earlier but spent the first 2+ months of the dlc farming Chult and making a TON of AD (easily 15 million+) selling lures and trophies. I didn't start running and trading for the lures until mid November, so a month and a half to get the achievement.

Oh dear... that's bad....... I had that happen with my toon that did one of the new achievements, I got the achievement to pop when I did it with another character... hopefully yours is just delayed???????????

I have done maybe 400 Hunts and still no +5 Ring. Spent at least 10 million already!
Mod 13 has 6 more +5 rings coming out from more hunts. Hopeully, no achievement gets made for it.

Here are my final stats for those interested. 120 spli ti, 2 undead rings. 260 karkinos, 2 beast slayer rings. 400 clawgraze, 2 goblin rings. 184 sirrush hunts, 2 Dino ring. 1015 dendar hunts, 2 yuan ti rings. So, roughly 2000 hunts for 10 rings for approximately a .5 percent drop rate.

If anyone still has lures but has given up on this achievement, I am offering a bounty per ring. If you take me on your hunts and a +5 drops, I will pay 3 million AD for the first 3 rings. For my 4th and 5th rings will pay 4 and 5 million AD respectively. For the Dino slayer ring specifically since it will likely be my last hunt, I will pay 7 million AD even if it drops before any of the others. So if I get Dino first, you could potentially make 7mil + 3mil + 3mil + 4mil + 5mil, or 22million total. If Dino drops 4th it would be 21mil total. If it drops last it would be 20mil total. Assuming the same person invited me to all hunts.
So invite me to a hunt and pass on the roll if a +5 I need drops. I will pass on ALL loot, including the trophys to make new lures, and will hand over enchants, smops, or umops as payment for passing the ring to me.
PS - For those of you that have friends that got multiple rings in 40-100 hunts, I hate your friends lol. Im over 100 hunts now with no +5ring and have only seen TWO +4 rings in that time. This is so disgusting.

Ok so i just got my last ring, no achievement. I assume this is known but i got 1 ring on another character so it won't register in the achievement section of the journal so i have to farm another beast slayer.

I sold spots in group for rex corona and rex amiculum drops so I didnt lose much. Might have broken even. Only 4 of the 10 lures were mine.

Over 350 lures done now (estimate closer to 400), i cluding 13 KoS lures. Still just the one ring from that lure in the mid 200s. And every other person I run with is "Oh I havr two of them already from less than 100 lures!" Bugger off.

Tribal lure finally gave me 2nd ring adter doing 18 of them. Broken even on all but 2 of them so not too much lost. It dropped the undead ring tho, worst one for me to get 2nd as it is the easiest lure to farm lol. Dino Goblin and Yuan Ti to go. About 470 hunts for my first two rings.

It's happened to me on multiple occasions. I'll even jump to an instance with less than 3 people and inevitably somebody comes and tries to take my work. I haven't gotten a Smilodon tooth in over 3 weeks because of behavior like this.

Have you memorized the respawn times? They are on fixed respawns, and easy to learn and do.... after a rare spawn it's twice as long as common usually

Will do. Ill see how he feels after we finish lol. Weve run 40 Clawgraze and 20 Sirrush already with no ring. (Side note: That brings me to at least 120 clawgraze and 75-80 sirrush with no rings). But I am helping him farm and doing the legwork to trade unwanted lures for the one we need (Clawgraze/Sirrush), so it isnt like he is out 60 lures so far. Plus he got paid for the Yuan Ti ring in less than 20 hunts after we made our deal, so hes "ahead" already.

Got my Dino tonight on my 18th lure of the 26 we had ready! Took a total of 104 Sirrush lures for Dino ring. A little less than 850 lures total for all 5 rings. Cant complain as thats better than the suspected 0.5% drop rate.

Another +5 drop tonight after a hot streak of +3 and +4 rings. Watch for those and keep dropping lures if they are coming. Sure seems like thats when +5s come to me! 14 tracked gamers now have this achievement. GG Goldenknight!

My bet is that sometime around mod 14 or mod 15, they will add a vendor that sells the lures for Chultan Riches. Considering the ONLY thing the riches are good for is buying a set of gear no one needs, this makes the most sense to me.

When the next mod drops on 8/28/18 ALL lures will be able to be bought and sold on the AH. Making this easier to get as long as somebody in the game is farming trophies and lures.

I was in a group of 3 when I got about 13 rings out of 115ish lures. You can set leader chooses now for loot and send extras to other players and send the ones you need to yourself. find out who needs what.

Yeah, I'm stuck on Yuan Ti as well. KoS dropped us a few Yuan Ti rings (+4, +3) so it may be worth running both Fang of Dendar and KoS. (Unless it's too far out of the way to get all of the pieces.)

Started farming the lures a few days ago, made a note of the total amount of lures I've used.
1st ring - 18th lure
2nd ring - 34th lure
3rd ring - 42nd lure
4th ring - 50th lure
5th ring - 62nd lure
A total of 62 lures across all different hunts, 49 tier 1 hunts, 11 tier 2 hunts, 2 tier 3 hunts. 4 rings dropped from tier 1 and the dino ring dropped from the 2nd tier 3 lure.
These drops are MUCH better. Not sure I've had good luck or bad. Several guild members had +5 drops within their first 5 lures.
1st ring - 18th lure
2nd ring - 34th lure
3rd ring - 42nd lure
4th ring - 50th lure
5th ring - 62nd lure

Btw, the Tyrant hunt in Omu, I did 1 of the Tyrant(to snag my achievement), it dropped all 4 pieces of gear, 2 +4 rings, and a bunch of refinement stuff... lol
And the KoS in Soshenstar is ridiculously harder than the Tyrant! Wow. I had a low level group for KoS perhaps, but it was an actual rough fight

One thing I'll add - not sure if this actually affects anything or not - but I found I seemed to have better drop rates (both before and after the update) when I was doing hunts in a group. Of my rings, I got 1 solo, 2 in a group of 2, and 2 in a group of 3, but with more solo hunts overall.

YuanTi and Goblin rings are pretty rare compared to the others it seems. Helping a friend and 11 Clawgraze and 17 Dendar didn't drop any. About to try again later.

To me, T2 has the better drop rates, and YuanTi and Goblin are T1 only hunts. Every other ring as at least 1 T2 hunt that drops it. Of course T3 has a chance, but it seems to lean heavy on Beast and Undead.

Yuan Ti - 32 Hunts
Goblin Slayer - ive got ultra lucky here, it drop when i did achievement for all hunts in soshentan river, so i didnt even try acquire him atm
Beast - First try, lmao
Undead - Maybe ~10 Runs
For me only dino left

Yuan Ti - 32 Hunts
Goblin Slayer - ive got ultra lucky here, it drop when i did achievement for all hunts in soshentan river, so i didnt even try acquire him atm
Beast - First try, lmao
Undead - Maybe ~10 Runs
For me only dino left

AGREED. Although, I think the drop rate was a big increase. Considering, I did get a couple really fast. Yuan-Ti is stupid though. obviously different drop rates for them programmed in!!

abe i completly forgot about clawgraze. the whole time of it is nearly a blur spent between fighting and mailing shit to each other. i would have thought we spent well more time in dendar than split ti but i will add i was coming home from working all day and jumping straight into this crap and was tired.

in saying that though they are about to change the game in a drastically negative way that seems to be based around getting more money out of its players anyways so i dont think they really give a shit about us.

3 rings dropped on my own. 80 dendars for Yuan ti +5, 40 sirrush for Dino +5 and 300 mostly karkinos runs for Beast +5. Goblin +5 and Undead +5 dropped for friends and they let me have it for a deal (helps to have good friends). I still probably ran clawgraze 40 times and Spli-ti 50 times before I got the rings from my friends.
DimTheSky's .5% drop rate seems about right to me. The +5 rings are almost certainly a 1% or under drop rate.

I absolutely recommend musicskooool's advice. Acquire and run 1 or 2 tier 3 lures before you start farming the tier 1 hunts individually for the rings. It will cut the farming time down considerably. Also, definitely save Undead + 5 (spli-ti) for last. Femurs are so easy to drop and rex fangs are easy to farm/cheap to buy.
Anyway, a little RNG can go a long way. I have a friend that has run about 40 lures total and gotten 3 +5 rings. +5 Beast on 2nd try, +5 Yuan Ti on 2nd try, and finally yesterday Undead +5 on about his 20th try which he, fortunately for me, let me grab/trade for the achievement.

Mod 12 has just made Neverwinter so damn toxic (in general.) Even when farming for a while, you get those poachers who stand there waiting for rare-spawns while your're doing all the work or they flat out run ahead & kill them before you're there. I hate it.

Just got my 3rd ring today. Just over 550 lures so far, 3 rings, all on other people's lures so I had to pay for them (but didnt pay for the lures, yay!). I stopped buying my own lures after about 250 (after my first ring on someone elses lure).
I have a dedicated guy that is doing it for a fixed price of 50smop for yuan ti, 50 smop for goblin, 100 smop for dino ring. He farms 20+ lures a day and only asks that I get on and farm some trex fangs when I have time but isnt demanding it. Saves all his lures for me. I buy the occassional Sirrush lure, but only from the proceeds from selling other lures he farms or that we get together. He is "all in", so all of his farming goes to lures for me or gets recycled for smops to buy sirrush lures if its lures I dont need (beast slayer, yuan ti, undead). So other than the 150 smops I have to pay him still for Dino and Goblin, I wont spend any more money on this.
He said I can send any people I TRUST from TA to him after we get my 5th. Who wants first dibs??

FYI, all of the +5 rings can drop from the KOS hunt. Not that it's a good idea to farm KOS for an undead ring, but the collection tooltips for all of them list the KOS hunt as a source.

"Achievements/Trophies are a part of most mods and as far as I'm aware, will continue to be.
The +5 ring achievement was a bit... brutal. We've made the note to not make future achievements that are that hard/random based to complete.
That said, we've also taken a look at the Chult/Omu hunt drop rates for M15 and made some improvements. A trophy should always be rewarded now and some of the other drop rates have been bumped up. Overall it should be a bit less painful to grind that content now."

Yeah, I wouldn't rely on KoS dropping the rings you need unless you need em all but even then, I think I did ~6 or 7 post update and only saw one +5 from KoS. Rest were T1/T2 drops.
I noticed that most of the rings dropped in the first 5 if they were going to drop (just had a buddy's +5 Yuan Ti ring drop first lure). (Not an exact science of course).
BTW if you see me farming/trading lures/trophy pieces, PM me and say you're from TA. Will try and offer for discount prices (or if you just want someone to farm with, I'll give you whatever we pick up while we run, but you must be actively farming too. Shadow can confirm :-). We had pretty darn good luck together).

It’s still a stupid achievement that is a complete waste of time. And people are still doing hundreds of hunts to get the rings they need. That guy who claims he got all rings in 54 hunts is either a liar or the luckiest person to ever play neverwinter. The drop rate was a slight increase

Yep, means farming KoS and Sirrush now become significantly easier. That and if a trophy drops every time from rare mobs, even getting the T1's will take significantly less time. It's like the T-rex fang drop now.
Managed to get my first +5 Undead Slayer this week though, probably should've waited for m15, but did it in 30 lures on Sunday (overall probably about 300-400 though). Going to stockpile the Clawgraze and Dendar lures specifically though. These ones are probably going to be the biggest pain, so I'd rather wait for the improved rates.

Got undead +5 yesterday using 10 of the 18 lures I had on me. I read somewhere that if you get a +4 in your first 5-6 lures you have a good chance at the 5. It(+4) dropped on lure 5 and the +5 dropped on lure 10.. They also said use a populated world. Which I also did.. So maybe that's something?

Now that Mod 15 is beginning for us today, do we have proper confirmation (or, will we soon) on how the drops will work back in Chult? I've been putting off playing the game purely because I know some of my potentially best gear is hidden behind the grind that was KoS and the Tyrant. But if lures/trophies are actually going to be easier to grind for, I'd happily jump back in to playing this every day (in between all of the other bloody games I'm trying to finish. XD).

Here's how it works now:
* Basic trophies (pieces of tier 1 lures from rare mobs in Chult) drop more often.
* Hunt trophies (pieces of tier 2 and tier 3 lures) drop 100% of the time.
* +5 rings drop much more often.
We ran about 70 Soshenstar hunts this evening and dropped 5 +5 rings (2 undead, 1 goblin, 2 dino). Because the hunt trophies drop 100% of the time, we were able to run all of the hunts up through KoS about 6 times. I got a dino and goblin from KoS, the undeads dropped from Spli-Ti and the other dino from Sirrush.
Note that this is true of Omu as well and makes running those hunts a lot easier. (We ran someone through every hunt in both regions of Chult tonight.)

Ya, they're probably trying to soften severely ruffled feathers everywhere with their ridiculous ban hammer on Xbox and PS4! I haven't been on to check, but I probably got banned for at least a day. I'm getting so close to just dumping everything I've got in Neverwinter. A string of terrible decisions like this +5 ring achievement just as one example, as well as atrocious drop rates.... and the new Barovia zone being one zone that got old after 30 minutes.
Thanks for the update though Fuzzmeister J, I'll be curious to see what the changes actually are. What do they mean when they say a trophy should always be rewarded?!? Does that mean you are guaranteed a King of Spines lure with only 21 hunts?

Theyre talking about hunt trophies that drop from hunts, like the clawgraze saddle. In Mod 15, every hunt trophy item will drop 100% of the time.
Should make farming easier, especially when the drop rates of rings have been bumped up.

i accompanied abe for the majority of his ring seeking adventures and got filthy rich of all the drops that he didnt want. but seriously split ti i did about 100 with him before the first ring. and then roughly after doing about 20 crabs with him he got the 2nd and then we went to the big scorpion right after and with 2 lures he got his 3rd ring. then we did dendar.
fucking dendar in his shitty tomb with enemies that make you run around like a headless chicken. i couldnt tell you how many days and times we were there with the stupid dendar hunt. thankfully the t2 hunt for the last ring wasnt that bad to finally finish it off.
i might make it sound easy but abes wealthy in neverwinter and hes a soldier for sticking to the task consistently day after day non stop. he spent alot of time and diamonds to get this achievement. as of writing this he is still the only one to get it.

So I had the undead ring before the update. I got on last night to see if I could get some progress and I ended up getting the +5's of Goblin, Beast, and Dino. My second clawgraze gave me the Goblin ring. I did all the hunts just for fun and got all the pieces just to try a KOS hunt for a +5. Well guess what? 1st KOS hunt I got the +5 dino, ended up doing another KOS and only got a +4 goblin but I would say KOS has an extremely high chance for +5 ring. I did the Hedetet hunt 4 times and didn't get the beast ring. I did the Karkinos hunt 5 times and didn't get the beast ring. But after my 6th or so try on Arachne, I received the +5 beast ring. I got 3 rings in a nights work. This is so much better than it was before.
I still have the Yuan Ti ring left, I have done the hunt about 15 times now and haven't gotten the drop. I'm hoping I get it in the next 15 tries or so. The way its been going, it is definitely possible. FYI, I farmed some but mostly bought the tier 1's with gmop, probably spending around 20 or so. But it definitely paid off. This will obviously take enormous amounts of farming to get lucky enough to get all five of the +5 Slayer rings. Check the Chult Collections page in the main menu to track your progress. These must be collected on one character!
- Ring of the Yuan-Ti Slayer +5: Drop from the Dendar hunt
- Ring of the Undead Slayer +5: Drop from Zulkir or Spili-Ti hunts
- Ring of the Goblin Slayer +5: Drop from the Clawgraze hunt
- Ring of the Dinosaur Slayer +5: Drop from King of Spines or Sirrush hunts
