How to unlock the Vault Dweller achievement in Neverwinter - Definitive Guide

To avoid any confusion I can confirm the random sites are the sewer/dungeon/crypt located in the well next to the Site Foreman (ladder or shovel symbol on the map).

The ladder indicates that you've unlocked that specific site where the shovel indicates you still need to unlock it, to unlock a locked site just head there, clear the enemies and upgrade the guard station, once you've done this head over to the shovel symbol shown on the minimap and you'll have an option to activate the site, activate it with reclaimed resources and you'll be able to access that particular site.

Now to get the achievement you'll have to explore/finish 50 of these, I would recommend grabbing some Alliance members, it's not entirely necessary but if you're lacking in DPS it never hurts.

YOU CAN TRACK YOUR PROGRESS BY GOING JOURNAL/ACHIEVEMENTS/EXPLORATION IT'S LOCATED AT THE BOTTOM

Hope this helped!

It says "random vaults" but it doesn't have to actually be "random", right? You know if you talk to the site foreman you can choose to pick random or sewer or crypt or whatever.

Yes but it's also your only option, they're all based at random, that's where the achievement gains its description, there's nothing stopping you from getting this achievement to answer your question.

Do you have any of the new weapons yet? Or am I missing something with the grind for those...

You should probably add the requirements to enter the vaults ie reclaimed resources and how to get them. Other than that same solution I'd give.

Nope not yet, you get those from progressing in the campaign you buy them in the campaign store, you actually have to farm 200+ vaults to acquire the reagents to restore them.

You don't have to do a single vault if you don't want to.

What do you mean about not doing any vaults?

Ah, I just meant for the resources you don't have to farm the vaults. For this achievement you do have to go through 50 of them. My comment was a bit misleading.

Are you sure it doesn't mean, only vaults chosen at random not from a special vault map?

Vaults are represented by a Ladder on your map. There is a "Site Foreman" generally near the entrance that requires one of each reclaimed resource for you to enter. Once you do that, you can enter the hole that workers are mining around.

Once inside you'll have to traverse a mini dungeon, killing all enemies in your path and defeating a mini-boss at the end, or clearing a few waves of enemies. Always look for a sparkling set of scrolls on the ground in the final chamber; these will give you a map (similar to SoMI) that you can earn extra rewards from. Visit the River District Maps post in the forum. Once complete and you've looted the chest, you can exit.

There is a one hour cool down timer for the vault upon completion. There are 9 Ladder icons on the map at all times; their positions are static. They are right near an upgradable guard tower. The sites can change from either a 'sewer', 'dungeon' or 'crypt'; even you can change them with passes bought from the merchant in the square. If for some reason the vault is not available to enter you'll have to clear out any nearby enemies and reinstate the guard tower; this is represented by a Red shield and shovel icons on your map.

Here's a list of the dig sites:

  • Dig Site N'halien
  • Dig Site Talven
  • Dig Site Galavren
  • Dig Site Floashebel
  • Dig Site Thracier
  • Dig Site Tamper
  • Dig Site Slade
  • Dig Site Shoce
  • Dig Site Coneth

You can track your progress in the Journal, tab over to achievements, then visit the "Exploration" category and look for 'Vault Dweller'.

Location "River Quarter". We need excavation sites.
There are 3 types: sewer, crypt and dungeon.
