How to unlock the Welcome to the Club achievement in NFL Head Coach 09 - Definitive Guide
This achievement is an absolute pain in the tookus, made worse by being such a dreadful game. This guide may be a little long, but it's the little details that help you get this MUCH faster (since simming an entire season to finish 0-16 just sucks).
I started as the Patriots, because like even the game says, playing the Pats is like playing on beginner. Run through as many wins as you can, but after a few years you're going to start losing players, like Brady. Then it's time to move on.
Sim often, because playing the games is like a root canal. (Sense a trend here? Sorry if you actually like the game.) Save OFTEN, before every game. Sometimes you can win a game you weren't expecting to win... but the reload time is so slow. If you do have to play, supersim it, then quit if it just isn't working out for you. Sometimes you may also have to just eat the loss. Don't kill yourself on the little wins, there are plenty more out there.
Sim often. I know I just said that. Especially sim through the offseason and preseason, because for the most part they don't matter. (Unless you like the draft. And unless you like contract negotiations.) That way you don't have to listen to the same guy ask you if you want to change your staff at the end of the season--with the exact same line--in the exact same tone--for each of the 20 members of your staff. (I can't believe they were so crappy with their coding of who says what and how often.)
I've actually simmed the whole regular season (and surfed the net, or watched a movie, it takes so long), and just taken the season if it was decent. By decent, I mean playoff-worthy. If it doesn't work, reload and either resim or play some of them. By reloading and resetting your depth chart (see below), you can fix that bad season.
Probably the best piece of advice when simming is to check your depth chart OFTEN. The AI (such as it is) may sign good players, but not actually put them in your depth chart. Then what could be a really good team goes 0-16, and you scratch your head before you realize you have 66-rated players at QB, HB and CB, and backup players playing the wrong positions on the D-line. I once simmed a 0-16 season, went back (even though that 0 approval rating is sooo sexy), had the computer actually AUTO-SIM the depth chart (a two second process), and ran off an 11-5 season *completely simmed*. The depth chart is crucial (which makes sense), and ensuring that your players are where they should be is more so.
When you do decide to play the games, the scouting reports are KEY. Listen to what the annoying guy with the terrible voice acting says about how your other team is preparing. He'll give you two pieces of advice during the week, and you'll have 3 practices. Make sure two of them address those exact issues that he mentions. (If he mentions that they're working on their passing game, make sure you focus on receiver coverage or other pass prevention.) I found it best to avoid specific plays altogether for the most part, instead focusing on general points (tackling the HB, shoring up the D-line).
Next, when your team starts losing key players, or you think they're about to, switch! Doesn't matter if you just won the Super Bowl, go to another team. After 3 seasons with the Pats, I switched to Cincinnati because they had an 85 overall talent. Was there for a few years, won a Super Bowl, switched to the Chargers. I think I won my 100th early in the 8th season.
Make sure you develop your staff along the way, too. Especially performance, and the special skills. You'll be surprised how much of a jump one skill increase can make on the overall skill level.
Best of luck. This one took me a few days, because I just couldn't stand to resim too often. As is obvious, this entire game felt like pulling teeth.

I simmed/loaded to 105 wins now and it still hasn't unlocked. Anyone else have a problem?

I know this can kind of be cheap but if you start out as the PAts, eventually Brady will retire and winning games is a lot more difficult.
After this point, at the beginning of a season check the roster of all teams and find the best QBs. Edit them to make them WR.
After they are edited you can easily trade for them to give your team a great boost. Also works for switching WR to QBs.

I would suggest switching teams often. What I did was went 19-0 the first two seasons and then by the third seasons, I had no money left so I only had about 28 guys on the roster. But if you choose to play as a new team, then they will have more money and you will be able to sign more guys. And every win counts so you don't have to worry about going 16-0 and winning the Super Bowl every year, if you get an above .500 record every year then you will get the achievement pretty fast. All regular season and post season wins count for this achievement but preseason wins do not count.

I started out as the Patriots but if you get fired or something then save right before you pick a team to coach and then if they are really bad, load and pick another team

To create a coach go to:
I didn't do this but you should start your 1st career with a created coach as going for the undefeated season achievement and by getting the 1, 2, and 3 Super Bowl achievements, as those will also massively help you towards getting this achievement.
