How to unlock the Skate Through achievement in NFL Tour - Definitive Guide
When starting the game, make the left team the Chargers (your team) and make the opposing team the Bills so that you start off on defense. When on defense, run the play Man Up under the Man play type. When the QB hikes the ball, rush Merriman up the middle by holding turbo (RT) and spam the Y button. 9 times out of 10, this will strip the ball from the carrier, causing a fumble and giving you possession of the ball.
When on offense, choose Long Pass plays (I liked Split the D and Flood) and if the other team doesn't blitz, just let the clock wind down as long as you can.
The biggest difficulty I was having was stopping the AI when they had the ball. Every time I would try to blitz the QB, he would just lollipop it over everyone's head to a wide open receiver, which would result in an unopposed touchdown. This guide put that nonsense right to bed. I ended up DECIMATING the AI 32-0 using Merriman's strip on defense.
HUGE thanks goes out to the guy who posted this on x360a, Midnight Malice. I hope this helps you guys as much as it helped me!
Basically select your team on the Left Hand Side, and your opponent on the right hand side ^^)
Choose the Steelers as your team and your opponents as the Rams or Bills.
Then after you have stopped there drive, What you do is run three Long Pass plays in a row,but when your QB has the ball just get him to then just sit behind your linemen and waste the clock.
If you look like your QB is to be sacked then press X to fall down, Do this three times, then get a first down and repeat it till the clock hits 0
Hope that helps
If you manage to get a first down on a run even better.
Begin on defense (your team on the left side of the menu) so that you start with the ball in the second half which minimizes late game scoring and time spent on this achievement.
Select the Storm Blitz every time and have Teddy Bruschi rush the quarterback (press A to tackle).
On offense prolong the drive as much as possible by selecting long passes, waiting to throw, and running for first downs or passing for a first down when on 3rd or 4th down. Score one touchdown so that you win the game.
After trying different combinations of teams and plays this method worked for me on the first try.
Alright, this one is frustrating, but you can minimize the difficulty by again using the Colts or Patriots vs. the Rams or Bills. Change the game difficulty from the main menu to All-Star, then head to an Exhibition game without changing anything else. Make sure to change the difficulty back after doing this one to save yourself some headaches on other achievements.
Normally you want to have the ball first, but for this achievement, have your team be on the left so you throw off first. Doing it this way, you can attempt to stop their drive, and if you fail, you can just restart. If you get the ball first, you'll be spending tons of time with no guarantee that you'll stop them and it will be a waste of your time.
So, rush the QB and use any trick you can to stop them on all four downs and get the ball. Hopefully you're not too close to their end zone, because you have some time to kill. What you want to do is run three Long Pass plays in a row, each time hoping they don't blitz, then just sit behind your linemen and waste the clock. Once you feel you are going to get tackled or something, run forward a few yards and hit X to fall down. Do this three times, then get a first down; repeat as necessary until there is little time on the clock for the first half, then score. Now, since you chose to throw off first half, you will get the ball in the second half and will just need a repeat performance of the clock wasting. Run it down to zero and this achievement is yours.
