A more sure solution to Im a manatee's is ... as you are selecting the flames press x and use the western all stars... i got this achievement along with the MVP and Stanley Cup achievement.

Press x at the team selection screen and choose Western All-Stars.

Sim the games one at a time. If your team is losing with 5 minutes left, intervene and quit out of the game. You can afford a few losses here and there so don't worry about the occasional OT loss or last minute loss.

Check the standings every 5-10 games. If a team is above you or close to you, make sure you beat them when you play them.

The achievement will unlock after the playoffs.

I recommend the Calgary flame for this achievement. You can edit rosters before starting a dynasty and make a few good lines have all really high rated players. I'd recommend simming two weeks at a time, if you lose more than 1 game, reload your save and try again.

First place requires the most wins.

If you are looking to get this achievement with your favourite team, I strongly recommend utilizing the direct sim feature on each game day. This takes you to a secondary screen, and simulated the game by the following:

End of first period
End of Second period
Five minutes left in third
End of game

If you watch the right side of the screen, there is an intervene bonus that only goes up when you're about to start losing. If you see it start to go up heading into the third, sim and get the win (takes about 5 minutes per game) and you'll be well on your way to winning the league. It's awesome because you don't have to play the games that are guaranteed wins.
