How to unlock the Be A Pro Legend achievement in NHL 09 - Definitive Guide
This is a very time consuming achievement. The following requirements are needed:
- 150 games played with your created Be A Pro player
- An overall rating of A- with this same player
- Win at least 2 individual trophies (ex: Most goals in a season, Most points)
To get 150 games played, you can simulate 55 minutes of the game, then intervene with 5 minutes left. This will credit you with a game played, as well as A+ if you score a game-winning goal or empty net goal.
Try using no penalties, no line changes, and full shot power and accuracy (Unless your Be A Pro is a goalie) for settings.
For team play: Make good passes, don't turnover the puck, win face-offs, and make big hits.
Remember to follow your arrow for position play, but this shouldn't affect you too much if you're only playing the last 5 minutes anyway.

Worked perfectly. It took me almost a year to get to 80 games and then a week to play 70 games and get the achievement with CLET8's solution. Nice Solution.

It is important to note here that, unlike HL 09's position-specific achievements, your skill level can be set on anything you want.
That means you can put it on rookie, alter your sliders around and then, after simming the first 2 and a bit periods of a game, jump in and slam home 3 or 4 easy goals.
I'd recommend this method, and that above, for people who are ina rush to get this achievement done. Because in all reality you should be able to come pretty close to this achievement just naturally by playing through 150 games.

This achievement will take you a while (which is why only 9% have it). Under the Performance Tracker on the main screen, you can see that you need to accomplish the following:
*Play 150 games in one or more Be A Pro careers. This doesn't have to be the created Pro, you can get credit playing NHL Be A Pro. (I've mostly done this way. No, I don't have it yet, but I'm close.)
*Maintain at least A- grade overall.
*2 different player trophies in various Be A Pro careers (ie. not the Stanley Cup... the Art Ross and Hart trophies would work). Again, you can do this with more than one career.
The legend card is set up so that you can play two careers (an NHL season is 82 games, so 2 seasons will net you the 150 games).
*Turn off your line changes (so you're always on the ice).
*Turn off penalties/icing/offsides (so you don't hurt your Team Play)
*Bump up your shot power/accuracy settings, and score a bit. Assists are good, too.
*Checking players is also good for Team Play.
*Positioning is easy if you just keep moving to where the blue arrow tells you where to go... there's some leeway with that.
Or you can just play through 150 games, and you should pretty much get all the requirements anyway, especially on lower difficulty levels. It's the 150-game requirement that is by far the most difficult part of the achievement.

I'm doing an NHL pro (figured it'd be easier) as Malkin and it says "Minimum 200 games played" as one of the 4 boxes under for Veteran. Does that have to be achieved in order to get Superstar rank? You said you got it with an NHL Pro, how many games did that require?

It's been a really long time, so I don't remember.

This is time consuming Requires:
150 Games Played with Your Pro i.e Cameron Speirs.
A- overall rating with Your pro.
2 Trophies unlocked i.e Most goals in a season, most points from what i remember the STANLEY CUP does not count (Lets Go Red Wings 4 '09).
Tips:
Game settings:
No penalties
No line changes
Full Shot Power and Accuracy
Sim 55 Minutes or even 60 minutes if YOU think the game is going to OT then score a Game Winning Goal or Empty Net and you will get A+ A+ A+.
For Team Play; Win Faceoffs, get big hits, take lots of shots and get good passes to your team-mates.
For Stats: Get a goal or two and you'll get A+.
