How to unlock the Assists King achievement in NHL 10 - Definitive Guide

This achievement cannot be simmed and must be done in Be a Pro mode. In order to easily get assists, play on Rookie difficulty and adjust the sliders in your favor. Call a pass to your player using the RT. Bring the puck somewhat close to the side of the goal and very often, another player will line up in front of the goal. Pass the puck to them using RT and quickly hit RB to make them shoot. I found this to be the easiest way to rack up assists.

Can you not earn this using your be a pro in online team play or club play?

Unfortunately, I am not sure. I got this in the Be A Pro mode offline. By the description, it sounds as if it doesn't matter what mode it is achieved in as long as it is with your Be A Pro character, but I didn't have it unlock until I got the assists in the actual Be A Pro mode (by that, I mean that it said 35 assists in my player's assists column, not 35 total assists when using him in every mode).

I've been simming the first 1-2 periods, and it seems the assists I did myself during the 3rd period do not count. So make sure you play full games...

In fact, it works if you do incomplete games, but you'll have to do a full game for the achievement to unlock ... It just popped and I did only 3 assists, so the game kept track of my other games, but was waiting to give me the achievement...

This one is slightly harder than the goal trophy. When you are playing with your BaP character, make sure you press the R2 button and aim it towards the guy closest and to the opposite side of the goal. This will eventually unlock as long as you continue to pass the puck.

*Tip* If you see a teammate in a good scoring position, pass it to him with the R2 button, then press R1 when he gets the pass to force him to shoot. *Tip*

It wont take you long to get the 35 assists with your BAP player. Just pass to your team mates as much as possible. I got this in 8 games. Remember to set the difficulty on rookie.
