If you cannot get it by boosting...it really is not that easy at all. I had 2 people quit when I went up 2 goals. I also had lost in the last seconds of ties like twice. People seem to not really want to play against AHL teams too, so they quit or don't pick an NHL team. The best teams to pick are the Manitoba Moose or the Peoria Rivermen. Without boosting this one is not easy.

i had the samething happen to me like a million times! but i finally got it i just used the admirals. i was playing against the blackholes (cause they suck get it?) and won 3-0! make sure you stay out of the sin bin and capitalize on PPs and get those PPGs! i wish everyone luck, this is a tough achievement!

Get a boosting buddy and go to the Online Lobbies under Xbox Live -> Community -> Lobbies
Meet your friend in any of the lobbies. Highlight his name and send him a game invite. Make sure it is a ranked match. When you have to pick a team hit RT to select the AHL teams. Pick any of them. Make sure your buddy picks an NHL team. When the game start have your buddy pull the goalie with LB + Back. Score a goal, then just kill the clock by skating around or finding a dead spot where the CPU won't chase you. The achievement unlocks at the end of the game.
Then go into a Lobby and switch roles with your buddy so he gets the achievement too.
You can get this and a bunch of the other online achievements in the same game if you don't take a penalty, ice the puck or go offsides.

Just select an AHL team and boost this a friend. You can go for other achievement while doing this, as long as your AHL team beats the NHL team your friend is using. See 'Out of the box' on how to boost a ranked match.
