This is kind of a chance achievement as it really is up to the game to give you a lucky break...lol. For me, I was in my zone and the CPU was attacking. They took a slapshot from the point and it hit my stick, breaking it. On the rebound, another CPU player came up and shot it which then hit my player in the ankle and bloop, achievement unlocked. It is easier to do in a game where you can take control of any player (so not Be a Pro mode). Furthermore, you could always put the slider for broken sticks way up but that could get zany, haha. Just in addition: You can block your own team's shots with your body and it will count for the achievement.

Pretty funny how I got this one. I had my stick knocked loose after the whistle in an EASHL game, so I just skated over in front of my goalie with LB to get in the way. I blocked a shot and got the achievement.

This can be done in the EASHL practice mode.
Get a friend, create a club and then both of you go to the practice option.
Change the settings to "Team Practice" not scrimage and go on different teams.
Whoever is getting the achievement should ge the puck and the other person should continously stick lift ( Press A) until the stick breaks.
Then go to your defensive zone without a stick. (Stay away from the boards, you dont want to grab a stick from your bench by accident.)
Get your friend to just cross the blue line, while you stand about 2-3 feet in front of them.
The other person should wind up for a slap shot, but not shoot. When their stick is all the way back, you should hold the left bumper to take a knee.
9 times out of ten this will hit you and the achievement will unlock.
