How to unlock the On Bended Knee achievement in NHL 12 - Definitive Guide

I decided to search for videos on how to do this and saw about 4-5 videos show up and they all had the same characteristics; The player would choose the Tampa Bay Lightning and play against any team of their choosing. Using Martin St. Louis, the player would wait for the other players to set up in the offensive zone. Then the player- still using Martin St. Louis- would go behind the net. Steven Stamkos would then start skating toward the high slot and be open for a pass from St. Louis. I attached a video showing this to save you the trouble of searching for it on youtube.

I did this in a Be a Pro game and the achievement didn't unlock.. I even went back at the end of the game and saved the video of me scoring the goal to make sure I did it, and I for sure did! Just didn't pop the cheivo... Any suggestions??

I know you said that you saved the video of "you scoring the goal", but were you yourself the one who went on one knee for the one timer, or did you pass it to somone on your team and they did it. I also did find a way easier way to get this achievement if you have a friend to make a EASHL team with.

I accepted the pass, it was my player who went on one knee and scored the goal. I have a EASHL team. I heard someone mention something about doing it in practice.... Do you think that would work? Or what are your suggestions?

Yes, doing it in practice works, I did it for 2 of my friends. The best thing to do is when you are in the practice room, the captain presses the Y button, and changes the practice to users only. Then it will only be you and your friend on the ice along with the other teams goalie, its for sure easier to do it this way than any other way. As for you not getting the achievement when you did it in Be a Pro, I have no idea why you didn't get it.

Me either, but thank you very much for the advice on the captains option in the practice room! Muchly appreciated :)

I found a way that seems almost guaranteed to have the bended knee option every time. We had 3 people do this, 2 on one side and one on the other, so he could pull the goalie. The guy working for the achievement will set up open in the slot on the one-timing side (so if a left hand shot, take a pass from the left side of your position - vice versa for right side), and NOT MOVE at all once in position. His teammate with the puck will send a pass over, and when that happens, the player taking the shot will hold down LT and flick down the right stick and assuming you're not moving, the bending knee shot will happen when you flick up on the right stick to finish your shot. All you have to do is make sure you hit the empty net that player 3 gave you.

That's right, holding LT and down the right stick works every time.
I got this one playing offline be-a-pro with my playmaker overall 70 :)

This Achievement is actually easier than you think. You can pick any team want for this.(I chose Vancouver and played Acadie-Bathurst of the QMJHL. For settings, I put skill level on Rookie. Then I put the passing and shooting sliders all the way up for both Human and CPU. Remember to have Manual passing ON. Then I put the Goalie sliders all the way down. When trying to get this achievement, for example, if your left winger is skating down the ice, he needs to pass it to his right winger and he must be a left handed shooter. So basically if your left winger is a right handed shooter and you right winger is a left handed shooter, all you gotta do is pass it to them from the faceoff circle hard as you can by holding down the pass button and then after that just pull down on the right stick and push up as fast as you can like a normal slap shot on the right stick. It might take a couple of tries. It only took me like 3-4 tries.

The best way to get this achievement is on odd man rushes. When you're coming down on the left or right side of the goalie pass across the front of the net and shoot on goal (one-timer). As far as I have been able to tell it's a random action. Try to get this odd man rush a lot and your odds are increased. Good luck!

This achievement can be done in any mode besides practice and shootout. The one-timer may seem to be pretty random but I found an almost surefire way to get it. Start up a Play Now game as any team and turn all the passing and shooting sliders all the way up. Then you are going to want to go up the right side of the ice with a left handed shot. Once you get near the top of the faceoff circle, fire a hard pass (it seems like it must be a really fast pass to work) to the left side for a one timer. The skater on the left side must be a right handed shot for this to work. The passer must be closer to the net so he is passing in a backward motion. I am sure this method works from the opposite side as well. I was able to pull of the one knee one timer 1 out of 5 times in game and about 3 out of 5 times in practice mode.

None of the previous solutions were helpful to me personally, so here is a specific solution that helped me out.

For this method, I used NHL Be a Pro mode and picked Steven Stamkos. When starting the season, change shooting and passing settings to benefit the human player. It's helpful to turn off penalties as well.

Here's the strategy I used in game:

1) Win faceoff with Stamkos and take puck behind your own net
2) Switch defense strategy to tight point using the left d-pad. This should get your players to bunch up around you in your own zone.
3) Start taking the puck up the right side behind Downie (#9)
4) The defender on Downie should switch to you around the faceoff line
5) Pass to Downie on the right side and start heading toward net by moving forward and slightly left
6) Hold down LT and the right joystick, while moving forward.
7) Press RT to take the pass from Downie, and push the right stick forward when the puck gets to Stamkos.

NOTE: This still takes a few tries. I think I got Stamkos on one knee about half a dozen times before I could connect. However, I did get this achievement within one Be a Pro game.

If you're having any issues, feel free to send me a message.

Play a Play Now game using a good NHL team like Tampa Bay against a team from any other league. When in the game, you will want pass to your sniper, like Stamkos, by pressing . When Stamkos gets ready to receive the puck hold to go down to one knee, and hold your , then move it when you get the puck to shoot.

This trophy must be completed with a one-touch shot.... while your teammate is with the puck..... you are holding at the same time choose the ideal position for the pass.... and deflect the right stick.... you need the puck to clearly fall under the stick..

It is easier to get this prize when the rules are broken against you, for example - they trip you, not far from the opponent’s goal. Then you fall on one knee (or two) and try to shoot the puck - then the prize is yours.
