I would suggest pairing this achievement with the "master collector" achievement. I unlocked this by just looking at the teams that I was missing players for and going into the search item option in the trade tab for the "HUT".
between the combination of selling off the cards you don't want and picking up cards you need (again going for the master collector achievement) you will accumulate 150 buys/sells.
As of September 28, 2013 every team (with the exception of SHL league, for some reason) you can pick up a lot of players reasonably priced, between 100-350 pucks.
I haven't seen a card counter anywhere, so the achievement pop was a nice surprise fro me.
(if anyone could let me know if there is an actual place to keep track of your running count of purchases and sales I'll add it in and obviously mention your name.)

Ive gotten the master collector achievement and sold roughly 40 cards and still no achievement. Hope there isn't a glitch for this... IE- like all the cards I sent straight to my trade pile and not to my collection first don't count.. or something ridiculous like that. Hoping it pops soon.

Did you get most of your cards from packs? That could be the reason you havent hit the 150 mark.
