How to unlock the Set the Tone achievement in NHL 20 - Definitive Guide
This achievement is for completing 10 sets in HUT.
Sets can be viewed by going into HUT, then going to the Exchange tab and selecting Sets. Here you'll see the following set categories:
-Special Events
-Upgrade Sets
-Monthly Collectibles
-Icon Sets
-Tips
The first set of sets that are the easiest to complete are the Tips set. In one of the first packs you open, you should get a tip card going over some of the basics of HUT. Once you have that card, you can go to Sets > Tips Set and select the first one. Click the left stick and you'll autofill any cards you have available to complete the set. Once it's filled, hit Y and your first set will be complete. Your reward for completing this set will be a pack with some cards and more tip cards in it. You can open this pack by going to the Store tab and going to Unopened Packs. Repeat this process for the remaining Tips sets and you'll have 5 easy sets completed right there.
That leaves you with 5 sets left. The easiest way to do this would be completing either some of the lower end monthly collectible sets or completing Silver to Gold upgrade sets.
Each month, there are new Monthly Collectible sets added. You get 1 Monthly Collectible in your free daily pack, and have the chance to earn one more every day doing daily challenges and one more every week doing weekly challenges. I personally prefer to save my monthly collectibles until the end of the month (Saving 54 of the gets an Icon or Gold collectible), but if you only care about the sets, you can save a few days worth and trade 1, 2 and 3 or 4 in to complete a few sets that way. The reason I also recommend doing the silver to gold upgrade set is because you get two silver players a day in daily packs, and it takes eight silver players to complete the set. So after about 4 days of only logging in and not playing at all, you can complete at least 3 more sets with no effort. Obviously the process is sped up significantly by playing HUT, but it's incredibly easy to do with minimal effort if HUT isn't your thing.

HUT auction house seems pretty dead at the moment, is this still possible now?

The easiest way to put it together is like this:
1) In HUT, look at all the “help” articles - they will give you a “Tips” pack for them
2) You collect the first pack - cards for the second pack fall in it, etc.
3) Repeat step 2 until you collect all possible “Tips” packs
The remaining sets can be completed with monthly cards or by exchanging players bronze for silver/silver for gold
