How to unlock the Greatness achievement in NHL 22 - Definitive Guide
This is a very time consuming achievement (roughly 50 hours).
You need to pass 2857 points in 25 seasons. Simming entire seasons only got me around 75-100 points per season so you’re gonna have to do some extra scoring. For this just turn difficulty down to rookie and change the sliders so your player becomes faster than everyone else and has higher shot power / accuracy. Turn down goalies reactions etc. Also turn off all penalties and rules. Make your character a center and with adjusted sliders just easily win the faceoff, to your bottom left teammate request a pass from him and score a goal. It should take you 4 seconds of the gameclock per goal scored. Score 50 goals in the game and then sim to the end. Then you can sim the rest of the season and hit roughly 125-150 points which is more than enough for the achievement over the years. Some tips:
- character should be Center so you get the faceoff
- sim using the „sim to next big event“ as it’s faster than calendar simming
- upgrade your player asap, especially passing / offensive awareness
- I’d rather score more goals in the early seasons so your player levels up quicker (eg.: had multiple 2-300 point seasons in the first couple seasons by playing more myself / less simming).
- buy the salary perks that level up your player permanently, once you’ve done that you can get bonus trait points by buying the art (under things) and euro trip (under leisure) every 180 days.
- in teammate conversations always do „Star“ and „act out „ as this will not give you a follow up pop up.
- if your team is not one of the best teams in the league you can request a trade under „GM“ and ask to be traded to a contender. You will obviously score more goals / assists if your teammates are better.
- sim through the postseason as those points do not count for the achievement (must be regular season points).
Good luck

The NHL Record for points in a career is 2,857, held by Wayne "The Great One" Gretzky. This record is so mind bogglingly insane that even if he never scored a single goal in his entire career, he would STILL hold the record for points. Points in the NHL come through either goals or assists, i.e. passing the puck to another player and they either score off the pass or pass it to someone else who then scores.
This is going to a LONG grind, made infinitely worse due to the number of repetitious and unskippable cutscenes in Be A Pro that add hours to the experience. You only have 25 Seasons to get the achievement before you're force retired, so unfortunately you can't sim the entire thing because on average you will get less than 100 goals a season this way and that won't cut it.
Following my guide for the Rookie Season of Be A Pro:
you should have at least 150 goals by the time you start your second season. I personally recommend scoring about 400 to 500 more goals this season, which is super easy with the setup as described in the above solution. After the third season, it's sim time the rest of the career. After the 2045-2046 season you'll be automatically retired, so if you don't have the 2,857 record by the time you start that final season play games and score until you do.
To help your number while simming I would level up all your offensive perks through the Skill Tree with points you'll unlock along the way. You can also buy salary perks to increase your stats, both temporary and permanent ones but all of this doesn't seem to make much of a difference. The best way to level up and rack up points is to simply play, but that's up to you how much you want to do so.
The achievement will not pop when you score your 2,858th point but rather after the game ends. Make sure to keep simming to the end of the 2046 season for the Golden Years achievement.
