From the Main Menu:

• Offline
• Franchise Mode
• Expansion Draft
• Default
• Create Team
• Go down to Continue and then Save, you don't have to change anything here ​
• Enter your name and continue
• Select the Anaheim Ducks and continue
• Continue
• Turn off every single option and continue
• Rules & Settings
• Quick Settings
• Auto Save to Off
• Trade Difficulty to Easy
• Back out and Start Career
• Create a save file here (tab over to League and then Save File)
• Go back to the Hub, go down to the Calendar, select July 1st, and then "simulate up to this day"
• Click through the pop up
• Auto-Generate a Protection List
• Click through the pop ups
• Continue Simming, then Ok
• Begin NHL Entry Draft
• Now if you're lucky you will have drawn the #1 pick in the draft. Make Pick and select Connor Bedard to unlock the achievement
• However, if you're not #1 select the team that is and select "Trade For Pick". Select your top five players and then "Propose Trade". The team should accept as long as you offer all five
• Make Pick and select Connor Bedard to unlock the achievement

This one was tricky compared to previous versions. If you get different results load that save file we made and try again, you should get this result within a few tries.

No offense to the other solution, but that's way too complicated.

You can get this achievement super-quick without having to sim or saving or anything else by doing the following:





Quick Version:

Start an OFFLINE Authentic Franchise mode, pick any team, start with a fantasy draft, swap your team to give yourself the #1 overall pick, pick C. Bedard (sort by Player Name - or scroll down he's 86 overall), make the pick, get the achievement.





More detailed version:


Go to OFFLINE and start Franchise Mode

Select Authentic

Enter your GM Name

Pick any team

Advance

When you get to the "Career" tab - toggle the "Fantasy Draft" to "On"

Advance

Click "Start Career"

When you get to the Fantasy Draft before starting it press X ("Swap Position") and swap your team into the #1 overall draft postion

Start the draft

There is no timer - so you have all day - sort by Player Name - scroll down to C. Bedard and select him.

Voila - achievement!!

It's that simple.
