I'm borrowing RonMexico53's guide from last year and only slightly modifying it.

This one can be done in about 20-30 minutes. So what you want to do is load a new franchise and select the 33rd expansion mode, create your new team it really doesn’t matter what they’re called/what they look like (unless you’re planning on playing on after this achievement) in the settings then you want to

• turn off salary cap

• (From the Settings menu right before you press A to finally start the Franchise mode) Turn off Auto save

Then you’ll have to complete the expansion draft, just draft good players that’s fairly simple, then you’ll have to go through signing free agents, this is where the salary cap being turn off will help, just offer the best free agents an insane amount of money to guarantee they join your team.

Now sim your way to the start of the season, sim pre season and manually save here.

If you need the CHL Scout achievement:


Sim month by month and if you’ve had a positive month (ie: a lot of wins) then manually save the game, if you had a particularly bad month don’t save but instead quit the game and reload from the start of the month, do this until the end of the season or until you clinch the playoffs and save again at the end of the season.

The same rules apply for the playoffs, sim the series (you can also go 1-2 games at a time -- that's what I did in the Stanley Cup - I won the first two, saved, then simmed. Just in case - then I had a better chance of winning it all) and if you progress to the next round manually save and repeat, if not, don’t save, back out and try again, do this all the way until the Stanley cup final and until you win. Luckily for me I did it first try without having to back out at all, perks of the expansion draft and no salary cap is you can make your team as good as you want really!
