How to unlock the Coyotes Trophy achievement in NHL 2K10 - Definitive Guide
This is an online achievement, which can be attained with 1 boosting partner.
This achievement can easily be done (for both people) in 1 game. It took me 23 games; I know how it works inside and out now, so if you want to know the simplest way to accomplish it listen up.
To select the game type for it, hit B for main menu, then select Team Up (left), then Pick-Up Games (Up), (then invite boosting partner).
You play on opposite teams and are locked in as controlling the Centre position only (like be a player mode from the EA series.)
You start each game with a grade of C-. Certain actions will improve your grade, while others will bring it down.
Things that positively affect your grade are:
*Winning Face-offs
*Passes
*Hits
*Shots on Goal
*Blocking Opponent's Shots on Goal
*Goals
*Assists
Things that negatively affect your grade are:
*Losing Face-offs
*Intercepted Passes
*Blocked Shots
*Penalties (with penalties you have to actually sit in bench for the duration of the penalty and during which time your grade is automatically set as a F. Your grade returns to what it was previously when the penalty ends; not sure how much or if at all this actually ultimately affects your grade)
Anyways the fastest way to improve your grade is to have your partner pull their goalie (press LT+RT+BACK), then score into the empty net. 5 or 6 goals should give you the maximum grade of A+.
Passing the puck around is also fast way to improve your grade; when you get the puck head back towards your goalie to minimize interference from CPU players, then keep passing to your teammates, and calling back for the puck (same button as pass, A).
If you both already have an A+ grade then you can kill the clock by one of you getting the puck and having both of you stand stationary within the trapezoidal area behind one of the nets. When I did it, once we had our system down, the boosting player had sufficient goals for the A+ grade about half way through the 1st period. So both players should be able to score enough goals to both get this achievement in just 1 game.
Of course that is if you started off doing things right. It is an AVERAGE of an A rank. So obviously if you’ve played just one game than that game’s rank is also your overall average. However, if you’ve played previous games in which you’ve received poorer rankings, then you will have to play more than 1 game to bring your average grade up to an A. When I started we were trying to get the A rank for 1 person at a time, primarily improving it by letting him win all the face-offs. My partner went first and only got to B range in the first game, then got the achievement after his second game. I, however, had been losing all of the face-offs during those two games and had a D- grade in both of them. Then in the next two games I lost connection. Losing connection gives you an automatic rank of F. So it took another a few wasted hours, and 19 games of getting an A+ grade every game, to get my average up to the A range.
And one final thing is you only need to get into the A range, not an actual A; so you only actually need an average rank of A-.
After the game is done you are sent back to the team up lobby, but the grade shown is not up to date. To get the achievement to pop just exit out of the lobby and go back into the lobby, your grade will be updated and the achievement will pop if it is A- or higher.
The servers were still up as of April 27, 2012 when I did it.

Great guide, jrath! +1
I've been trying to get this over the last 2 weeks, and I think it's now unachievable.

Go into the team-up mode and play a game. Make lots of passes between you and your teammate and try not to take many penalties. It's easier than it sounds. You don't even need to win the game to get this.
No longer possible due to server closure.
This is the second online trophy in this game. To get it you need to get an A grade in "Online Pick Up Game Mode". You get an A Grade by scoring goals, winning faceoffs, good passes, assists, good hits and interceptions. You can see your grade in the left-top corner. If you do good things it will become green and if you do bad things it will become red. Go HERE if you need a boosting partner.
