How to unlock the Penguins Trophy achievement in NHL 2K10 - Definitive Guide

Note that the description for this one is misleading -- you can sim all, some, or none of the 17 games in your franchise and still get this achievement.

Create a franchise, but be sure that Autosave for the franchise is TURNED OFF. Sim/play a game, and if you win then save the franchise, if not, quit back to the main menu and reload the franchise. Do this for 17 wins and you'll get the acheivement.

Note that for me the achievement didn't pop for me until I simmed my 18th game (which happened to be a loss), so if it doesn't pop immediately, just sim a couple extra games.

Create a custom team. Stack it with the best players in the game. Then sim the first 17 games of a season (swapping your custom team out for another team). Make sure to turn autosave off, like said above, so that if a loss does occur, you can back out and try that game again.

A much longer alternative is to create a season without a custom team, but turn force trading on. Then go through and force trades with teams for all the best players in the league. Then continue with simming.

Using your team of superstars, play 17 games in a row and win them. Use 1 minute periods and save after every game. You can use the 2 controller method if you want as well. If you do lose a game, go back to the dashboard.

While you can get this achievement by simming, it's not recommended since even the best teams in the game won't have huge winning streaks like that. But if you want to sim a few games and hope that it gives you a little streak to start with, go for it.

Pretty self explanatory. Just start a new "Franchise" (or if you have one already use that one) and just win 17 games in a row.
