An easy way to get this achievement is to use two controllers. Start the game and take controller #2 and press Right D-Pad and then press RB. This will cause the team to pull the goalie. Now, just drive and score quick with controller #1. Rinse and repeat 999 more times.
You can work on other achivements during this time too... like the assists.

yeah that is the best way to work on them, also try to get 2 assists as well so you work on your 1500 assits as well. I was able to get 60-70 goals on 5 minute periods
