This may come with natural progression of all the other achievements but an easy way of grinding this out is to rematch the kingmakers (you need the retrial spell)
Don't kill them but when they put out the rocks with higgledies inside these will drop a few orbs at a time so you can just farm these whenever the boss summons them and get consistent orbs

Is there a way to know if the achievement is bugged for me? My total number of balls (from the stats) is beyond 2000 already if the higgledy balls are included.

As well, use Martha's Methods and get all the perks that increase higgledy ball drops. Will get this very quick.
