The key for this one is turbo. What i did was I gave up a single, and pitched with Spongebob right outside the hot zone and tried to get the meter right above the white line (it will turn green). The guy popped the ball up way back, caught it for one out, HELD RT (turbo), and threw it back to first base since the runner has to tag up, got the out and got the achievement. Pretty easy.

I would recommend working on this while your defeating every MLB team (3 innings on easy).

After I tried the other solutions for about two hours I could not get them to work so this is what I did.

Change the difficulty to all-star and this will cause the players on the opposing team to hit almost every pitch but many of them will be ground balls. I used the Red Sox playing against the Mariners but i don't think this will really matter. Allow one person to get on first base and then be ready on the next hitter. As soon as the ball is hit press "A" to dive with an infielder. If you happen to have a turbo bar filled quickly use it but it is not required. as soon as you have the ball quickly press "Y" and then "B" to throw to second base and then first getting the double play.

I got this the first game I tried and actually got a double play in each of the three innings using this method. For two of those I did not use the turbo at all but if you happen to have one It won't hurt to use it.

I am not sure if the card is still awarded if you quit the game so probably best to finish it just to be safe since you will need it for this

I do agree with Moroniccow that turbo is the best way to get this achievement but I do believe there is an easier way to obtain the double play. When I let a guy get on first base, depending on what their speed level was they had a tendency to steal second base while I was pitching the third strike. If you can strike out the batter and then catch the runner stealing that also counts as a double play. I never really had any pop flies to catch and turbo throw back to the base the runner should have tagged, but turbo throwing to catch the runner stealing happened a few times while going for other achievements.

All in all, it is an alternative method is pop flies aren't working for you.
