How to unlock the Legendary Gardener achievement in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... - Definitive Guide
Try this pattern to get the Legendary Flower
White Legendary Flower:
Pink-Peach-Pink-Peach-Pink
Peach-Pink-Peach-Pink-Peach
Pink-Peach-Pink-Peach-Pink
Use the time zone change trick and just keep RESEEDING THE PINK FLOWERS, NOT ALL OF THEM, until you get the flower. The pink flowers are the ones that will change into a lunar tear. Essentially you’re skipping time to see whether the pink seeds will grow into lunar tears in the future without actually waiting for a full day for them to grow. This video below shows how the time zone change trick works. If you don’t know about it give it a watch. He explains it very well, hope it helps. It works for both Xbox and PlayStation. I got the flower after reseeding just once. The flower has a 1% chance of sprouting but the pattern above increases it significantly. Just make sure you reverse the middle row as I showed above.
How to get Pink and Peach flowers for Legendary Flower:
Pink:
Red-Indigo-Red-Indigo-Red
Indigo-Red-Indigo-Red-Indigo
Red-Indigo-Red-Indigo-Red
(Indigo pattern is blue-gold-blue-gold-blue in any pattern normal or reversed. It’s 100% guaranteed everytime)
Peach:
Red-Gold-Red-Gold-Red
Gold-Red-Gold-Red-Gold
Red-Gold-Red-Gold-Red
The reversed middle row method almost guarantees Pink and Peach flowers in their respective patterns. I don’t know why or how the mechanic works but I got both flowers using their respective patterns without any reseeding using this method. Try it out and see if it works for you as well. Once again just reverse the middle row pattern that is all.
Edit: The reply below mentioned a good tip. Use bounty fertilizers and water the seeds. You can get up to 3-6 seeds after harvesting.
Good luck!

This is probably pretty obvious, but just in case anyone is wondering like I was: the achievement pops when you choose to "Harvest" the flower, not when it reaches maturity. Just thought it was worth mentioning since messing with the system clock is encouraged =)
I've HEARD but not confirmed myself that harvesting the seeds from a dead flower will also pop the achievement. If you haven't had enough of gardening after this achievement, the seeds from this flower will directly grow a new one, and the flower itself will sell for a decent amount (I think 5000) and is also a full heal.
I believe that using the bounty fertilizer (purchasable in Seafront) before planting and watering after planting will increase the number of seeds you get. Something to keep in mind to maximize your returns if you're trying to get more pink seeds for that damn quest.
Edit: Thank you for the guide =)

No problem! Thanks for the additional info every bit helps!
Yes, bounty fertilizers help out a lot! Especially when reseeding rare flowers (pink & peach). Watering and bounty fertilizers can get you up to 4-6 seeds

For this achievement you must cultivate a White Moonflower. Flowers in the game require real-world time to grow, and produce a seed. It takes a full 24 hours for a plant to mature and another 24 hours to wilt and produce a seed. You need to pick up the seed within 24 hours of it dropping or it will go bad. To be able to garden, you'll need to complete the quests "Shopping List" and "A Return to Shopping" in the first half of the story, or by purchasing the "Cultivator’s Handbook" from the florist in the village in the second half of the story.
You can manipulate the growing by changing time zones on your console, for instance: save, then set your time zone to UTC -11 and plant a seed, then save again and move forward to UTC +13 (this gives 24 hours right away). Reload your save again and the flower should have matured. You'll still need to wait to the next real world day, then move your time zone forward again to check for seeds to properly get the full 48 hours. This cuts the process in half, but will still require at least four real world days. I'd suggest just working on this passively throughout your five endings rather than going through all this trouble though.
Anyway, to actually get the White Moonflower, you need to crossbreed plants in the following ways:

- Red + Gold = Peach
- Blue + Gold = Indigo
- Red + Indigo = Pink
- Peach + Pink =White
You'll get these seeds from the Grocer in Seafront. Crossbreeding in this game means you've placed the seeds in an alternating pattern in the garden. This gives each seed a chance to breed with the one beside it and turn into a new flower. For more information on gardening, see HERE. Once the White flower has grown, the achievement will unlock when you harvest it.
This is by far the most time-consuming trophy in the game. When done legitimately, you'll be looking at a minimum of 168 Hours for this trophy alone, and it's just a whole lot of waiting around. That method is listed below. It follows along the same instructions as Shadow's original method, but you can't manipulate the clock in the same way as the PS3 version. If you're looking for any sort of clock-manipulation method, our friends over at PowerPyx have allowed us to link their method to getting this trophy done in ~48 hours versus ~168, so please follow the link at the bottom for that method (credit goes to Gage for spending a ridiculous amount of time figuring that method out).
The Legendary Flower is the White Moonflower, which you'll need 3 full growing cycles and 1 partial cycle to get. To get the White Moonflower, you'll need to spend a lot of time cross-breeding other colored Moonflowers until you get to White.
The time stages for the flowers are as follows:
The Legendary Flower is the White Moonflower, which you'll need 3 full growing cycles and 1 partial cycle to get. To get the White Moonflower, you'll need to spend a lot of time cross-breeding other colored Moonflowers until you get to White.
The time stages for the flowers are as follows:
- 24 hours to grow / harvest as a flower
- 24 hours to grow / harvest as seeds
You will, of course, be needing seeds for the first 3 Moonflowers you'll cross-breed/create. So 48 per.
- The first Moonflower you need is the Peach Moonflower, which is created by cross-breeding Red and Gold Moonflowers.
- The second is the Indigo Moonflower, which is created by cross-breeding the Blue and Gold Moonflowers.
- The third is the Pink Moonflower, which is created by cross-breeding the Red and Indigo Moonflowers (it doesn't make sense, but just go with it, red and indigo totally make pink).
When you have your Pink and Peach Moonflowers, you'll need to cross-breed those in hopes of getting a White Moonflower.
Now, obviously the more seeds you have at your disposal, the better chance you'll have to get this done in timely-manner. To cross-breed flowers, you need to have their horizontal positions alternating (horizontal being the same row of dirt). If your garden is fully expanded, each row will have a total of 5 available spots to plant on. You can pick up some Speed Fertilizer from the vendor in Seafront, but please note that this will only cut the growing time in half for the flowering part, not the actual seeding part.
Starting with trying to get the Peach Moonflower, you want to purchase 9 Red Moonflower Seeds and 6 Gold Moonflower Seeds, then plant them so the horizontal rows are alternating:
Red - Gold - Red - Gold - Red
Red - Gold - Red - Gold - Red
Red - Gold - Red - Gold - Red
Save your game at the nearby mailbox so if you have to come back to this step, you can. Go back to your garden and water all of the seeds and put Speed Fertilizer on them if you have it. Also make sure you water all of the plants to potentially increase the seed output. If you used Fertilizer, you'll need to wait 12 real-time hours for the flowers to bloom. If you didn't, you'll need to wait 24 real-time hours. Once the flowers have bloomed, you hopefully have 1 or 2 (or more) that have bloomed into Peach Moonflowers. If you don't have any, reload your save, pick up and replant the seeds, and try again. After the first 12/24 hours, if you're satisfied with your blooming, you'll need to wait an additional 24 hours real-time before the flowers can be harvested for seeds. When they're ready, harvest the seeds.
Now you need to move on to the Indigo Moonflower. You'll need 9 Blue Moonflower Seeds and 6 Gold Moonflower Seeds. Place them just as before, alternating on their horizontal line.
Blue - Gold - Blue - Gold - Red
Blue - Gold - Blue - Gold - Red
Blue - Gold - Blue - Gold - Red
Repeat the process of waiting/fertilizing/watering, then waiting again for the seeds to harvest. When you have a few of the Indigo seeds, you can move on to the Pink Moonflower Seeds. For these, you'll need 9 Red Moonflower Seeds and 6 Indigo Moonflower Seeds (if you want a full garden, at least). Place them just as before, alternating horizontal rows:
Red - Indigo - Red - Indigo - Red
Red - Indigo - Red - Indigo - Red
Red - Indigo - Red - Indigo - Red
Repeat the process again until you are able to harvest Pink Moonflower Seeds. Now for the final step, cross-breeding the Peach and Pink Moonflower Seeds. Place them just as before, alternating rows:
Pink - Peach - Pink - Peach - Pink
Pink - Peach - Pink - Peach - Pink
Pink - Peach - Pink - Peach - Pink
With a little bit of luck, after the first 12 (w/ fertilizer) or 24 (w/out fertilizer), you'll have at least one White Moonflower ready for harvesting. You don't have to wait for the seeds to be ready for harvesting, just the flower itself. Go ahead and pick it up and when you do, the trophy will unlock.
If you're looking for a quicker, more time efficient way to get this trophy by manipulating the timezone settings on your console, please see Gage's guide over on PowerPyx's site that walks you through how to properly setup this trophy and earn within about a 48 hour period: Powerpyx's Legendary Flower Guide
