How to unlock the Something Very Special achievement in NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... - Definitive Guide
For this ending you need all weapons.
To obtain this ending, you must first find all 33 weapons in the game. See Weapons Collector (30G) for info on that. Then at the end of the game, you will be given a choice. Make sure you choose the second option, to sacrifice yourself, which will unlock Ending D.
Warning: Unlocking Ending D will erase all your save files. You will have a chance to get the save file you were using when you unlocked Ending D back upon completing Ending E. However, that is the only one that will be returned to you, so if you had multiple saves for any other reason, resolve using those saves before unlocking this ending.
If you're following the steps outlined in the Walkthrough above, you want to complete your Speedrun for Lightspeed Fighter before going for this ending. When you complete Ending D, all of your save files will be erased. You'll need to complete Ending E to get your main save file back, but the other ones will be gone forever.
You've already collected all of the weapons for Ending C so you don't have to worry about collecting anything else for this Ending. If you haven't already earned the time-related "boss" trophies, you can earn them all on this run or wait until after you complete Ending E (you'll get a badass weapon that will make taking them down go much, much quicker). Progress through the game until you have defeated Shadowlord. Just as before, there will be an additional enemy to defeat after him. Take her down and when you do, you'll be given the choice of A) Sacrificing another, or B) Sacrificing yourself. For Ending D, choose the second option. Doing so will erase all of your save files and presumably your entire game progress (don't worry, you'll get it back). After the non-skippable credits roll, you'll find yourself back on the main menu. Choose to start a new game and go through the steps of creating a new character. You can't use the name you previously named your player, so choose something different. This will setup you up to get Ending E (e8a898e686b6e382b5e383bce38390e383bc )
