How to unlock the Extinguished the Flame achievement in NINJA GAIDEN II - Definitive Guide
This achievement is awarded for the second time you beat Zedonius. The overall strategy remains the same but this time you can be knocked into lava and he loves to fly away and pelt you with fireballs from a distance. Or worse..Summoning Red Gajas to rip you to pieces while sitting back and eating popcorn, enjoying your suffering. He also seems to be a great deal more aggressive this time around.
His Attacks:
*Aerial*
Fireballs - Dash left or right to dodge the first, jump the way you came the second, then repeat for the last 2.
Flame Pillar - He has a lot of warning before he uses this, and you should be able to easily dodge..His weakest move by far.
Ground Stomp - Extremely damaging and can be hard to avoid, the best advice I can give is moments before he hits the ground dash jump out of the way.
*on the ground*
Fireballs - Dash left or right to dodge the first, jump the way you came the second, then repeat for the last 2.
Furious Strikes - If you stick near him for too long he will begin swiping at you, dealing some good damage.
Grab - Easily his most dangerous move because it can be hard to see it coming, and is unblockable. Just be careful when your near him to avoid it.
Fire Laser - Im unsure if he uses this move on Acolyte, since I always killed him before he was able to. But his move has ample warning time and as long as your not directly in front of him you should not get hurt. Personally I have never been hit by this.
**On Master Ninja he will summon Fiend Gajas to help him, this is very distracting and deadly, if possible attack him to knock him out of his summoning animation. *Unsure if he does the same on Mentor Mode*
There is a very simple tactic to beat this guy, although for Master Ninja and the like he is understandably a great deal harder.
Equip the Scythe, whenever he is in the air you want to wait for him to do his flame pillar move "he has a long recover time after using this move" and jump Y-Y-Y to do the circular spin and hit him for some damage. Or you can wait for him to do his flaming stomp *dash jump out of the way to avoid damage, but it can be tricky to get the timing down* and mash the Y button to give him some major damage. On Warrior and Acolyte he will be dead fairly quickly. I have also found trying to be conservative with this boss on the higher difficulty leads me to my untimely death.
