How to unlock the Feat of a Thousand Obliterations achievement in NINJA GAIDEN II - Definitive Guide

First off, this achievement is stackable. Meaning you can play through the campaign several times to accomplish this achievement as well as the " feat of ultimate destruction".

An OT is any time a ninja has a limb missing and you press Y over his body.

The best advice is to tell you to OT everything. At every point in the game. I know it sounds tedious, but 1000 is a lot and usually takes more than one playthrough.

However, I have found that the fastest way to get this achievement is on level 10 where you are running up the steps and hundreds of black ninjas swarm down after you. It is on this part of the game that you can continually run up the stairs using both UT and OT to rack up 1000 of each. I would simply run up them. Save in a different slot. And replay.

I must warn you, even using this method reaching your goal will still take some time. However, now you don't have to play the game several times to do it. You can simply replay a level and grind this achievement out.

Thanks for the clearification. I'll update the level and save slots soon. Congrats on the achievement.

I have try your methon. The area which you are talking about is on mission 10 right after the mini boss fight with the dragon. They are a save point before the dragon fight which I would make a save at. After the fight you will be giving the item to which open the door up for you. Behide the door is a LONG stair case. You will have ton of Black Ninjas to fight. They are two places on the stair which are use to switch the Ninjas fights. After U have clear the area which taking a good 10mins of fighting. You will jump door and a save point will be here. I would save here on a different slot and keep reloading the one before the mini boss and keep doing it over and over to the achievement unlock. I know for a fact that the kill you do are save toward the achievement I just did both achievement in 1-2hours. The other achievement went alot faster then this one did.

Unless you’re not planning on doing more than one playthrough I would advise against grinding out this achievement. I unlocked it about halfway through my Warrior playthrough

I should clarify that in order for this method to work you must go into the options and make sure the save method is set to manual and not automatic.

The obliteration technique is made when a player presses y on an injured enemy (injured meaning he lost an arm a foot or his head) which causes a move that completely kills the enemy and leaves you bloodlust.

In order to obtain this achievement you must Defeat 1000 (Story mode) enemies with the obliteration Technique. Some people worry that you must use the Obliteration technique 1000 times in one story mode but it doesn't. You can get this achievement any time during the game if you've successfully use the Obliteration technique 1000 times.

In order to get it the fastest way you must be repetitive on your enemies

Tips:
1. Pressing the Y button simultaneously on a normal makes them injured to the point when they lose an arm a foot or their head. Thats your chance to Press Y to use the Obliteration Technique.

2. Also their is no counter in Ninja Gaiden 2 that tells you how many OT's you have done so just keep doing it until the achievement pops up.

3. If you press y simultaneously most of the time the Obliteration technique will not take into effect because it will perform a combo instead as soon as you see the enemies body part get cut off immediately stop pressing y simultaneously and press Y when ryu has stop performing a combo.

Gathering a bunch of enemies and then using your wind ninpo can easily cut off a few limbs which makes it easy for OTs.

I got myach today on my Warrior playthrough. Just playing regularly when trying for the difficulty based achievements will get you this achievement in due time. I don't see the need for anyone to really boost this unless you aren't keen on playing NG2 beyond the Acolyte setting.
