How to unlock the Feat of Ultimate Destruction achievement in NINJA GAIDEN II - Definitive Guide
Ultimate Techniques are done by holding Y until your body glows and releasing it to do a big combo on your enemies. Charged Arrows also count towards the achievement. This achievement carries over through multiple playthroughs. I cant confirm that the kills count if you die but if someone can i will update. An area with a lot of enemies where i finally got the achievement is in chapter 6 Lycanthropes castle. There are a lot of those little spider bone creatures in the room where you fight the boss.
Note: you can charge up the Ultimate Technique much faster if there are the floating orbs around you from killing enemies.
Good luck and dont worry, you will get it eventually

Just wanted to say it took me about two and one half complete play throughs on Acolyte difficulty to get this achievement. But farming the bug creatures in Chapter 6 or 9 is recommended if you want to get this achievement in one play through. They infinitely respawn in each location. The long stairs section in chapter 10 is another spot but the frame rate is horrible there, making it a bit more difficult.
Using a fully upgraded Scythe UT kills them in one hit. It's probably the best weapon for this.

I i start a new game will the counter cross over or does it only cross over if you continue with the same file youve been using all along?
Reason i ask is because i really cant be arsed to fight the last boss...again lol

This can be rather time consuming, seeing how you have to 'charge' all 1000 kills. It's rather easy when you have the method down though. First off, to perform an Ultimate Technique, hold Y to charge your attack. This can be done with any weapon. First the wind/aura around you will turn blue. (It's possible to kill an enemy with this UT if they are weak enough) And if you wait until the wind/aura turns orange you are certain to get an instant kill on almost any enemy other than a boss.
Note: Bow kills count in the achievement, and will most likely be your biggest contribution to the count. Just charge up each arrow until orange aura is around you and then you will have an instant kill UT shot. Try to take out multiple enemies with one arrow. You get the achievement for KILLING 1000 enemies with UT, not USING UT 1000 times.

When you encounter small enemies like those bonefish in lvl 4 or 5 or the creepy crawlers in the cave at lvl 9 use your UT. If you use UT at those moments you'll get to 1000 kills pretty soon.

Thanks for the comment. And yeah, this really isn't a hard achievement to get. Just somewhat time consuming. :)

Now, I am not 100% sure if this works (I hope someone can help me confirm), but on Chapter 9, when you meet the small Spiked Creatures, epuip a weapon your comfortable with for crowd control. I used the Kusari-gama (the sickle & chain) and use the Ultimate Technique like no tomorrow. Even if they die, there are a LOAD in the tunnels after your first encounter right before meeting a giant tunneling worm. (This is also a great way to gain the 'Feat of a Hundred Slashes' achievement, 100-Hit combo) I find it very easy to use the Kusari-gama in the tunnels and as soon as I finish one UT, I charge another, usually collecting essence from my previous kills. The only problem with my theory is, if you die (and continue for some), do the UT kills still carry over?
(P.S. If you want a load of yellow essence, then go here. I gathered around 50,000 essence going into the tunnels and destroying the egg sacks. Just avoid the giant worm until you no longer are receiving essence from the egg pods.)
