Stand in middle of area and let all the bug things get close then use fully upgraded Wind ninpo. Some red essence is usually dropped so just keep repeating until all are dead.

Round them up into a dense group by running around the other edge of the arena and use your Windmill Shuriken fully charged Ultimate Technique or Dragon Sword Ultimate Technique. It's an easy way to up your Ultimate technique kills total in the process that goes towards the 1000 Ultimate Technique Kills achievement.
