How to unlock the Way of the Acolyte achievement in NINJA GAIDEN II - Definitive Guide
This achievement given when you complete chapter 14, the final chapter.
The challenge of this chapter is defeating the 2 bosses in a row, then 3 boss characters in succession at the end. Meaning, you won't have an opportunity to purchase any more items once the final 3 boss fights start. So do you best to save your health and nippo increasing items for the final 2 boss fights.
The first three boss fights are fairly straight forward fights. Use what you do to defeat the other humanoid bosses.
The key to the second to last boss fight, the giant guy with the glowing orb in its ab region, is accuracy with your bow. You need to him with a full charged arrow in the face first. Then, once his orb starts to glow, hit with more fully charge arrows for even more damage. There are 3 stages, you have to climb to, to finally finish him off. Two tips for success for this boss.
1. There is free moment to get off a head shot when each stage begins against this boss if you quickly move to the middle of the space where you are fighting. This is key! Use this time to get the head shot in, dodge the puked guts and quickly fire a charged arrows at the glowing orb, dodge again and fire again. You can avoid a lot of his other damaging attacks if you can do this without much delay.
2. Aim for the low portion of the orb since just below the orb is also vulnerable to your arrows. The top part will result in more misses with your arrows.
The final boss is almost as difficult. I found I could do the most damage to him by standing between *his arm and the cliff edge* and hacking at his hand/arm area. Don't get too close to his body. If you are lucky, you can do almost half damage to him before he moves.
He'll eventually start flying. Then it's just a matter of dodging his fireballs and lighting and waiting for him to land again. When he starts walking on the ledge, lay into his feet with more hacks. If he lands with his arms exposed, go after his hands to finish him off.
Again, don't make the mistake like I did which was using all my heath items on the first 3 bosses because it makes the final two bosses much more difficult.
Good luck!
KEY NOTE: If you are low on essence to purchase items or upgrade weapons, The Blood Eels can be killed by the normal Scythe attack while standing on the land edge of the water. Once you have killed them all, go back to the previous room, save your progress and quit to the main menu, resume from your saved point. The Blood Eels will be back and you can repeat killing them for unlimited essence.

So I have been doing some research and have found out there is an Invincible glitch which I am suprised that it is nowhere to be found in solutions so I guess I will be the one to post it. I have beat this game 14 times in total trying to complete it and it is one of the hardest games I have ever played.
To activate Invincibility you need more than 1 weapon, so as soon as you get the staff in the beginning you can activate it. To activate Invincibility open up your weapons by hitting up on the D-pad and hitting X+B at the same time on another weapon. To de-activate it just equipt ANY weapon, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO DEACTIVATE IT SO DONT WORRY! To run around with it on you have to jump around alot, and right when you land push up on your analog stick. To read tips on using this glitch or strategies to beat bosses and other units just read my guide on the Master Ninja achievement:

I'm by no means an expert in this game, but I found IGN's walkthru to be very detailed and full of good advice for the Warrior difficulty level. As Acolyte is easier, I'm sure this continues to be good advice.

Obviously it contains spoilers. It also includes a guide for the crystal skulls along the way, but does not include guides for the Tests of Valor (other than where they're located on each level).
This guide will have you using the Dragon Sword and the Eclipse Scythe for the majority of the game and so you won't need to spend a lot of yellow essence on upgrades for other weapons.

Just complete the game on the Path of the Acolyte, the easiest difficulty setting in this game. You also get this achievement when you complete the Path of the Warrior first, as I recommend that, as on Warrior you get a good drill for Mentor and Master Ninja.
On Warrior you must immediatly adapt to the pace of the game and become more skillful at a fast pace, this will help you later in Mentor and Master Ninja. Good luck!
