Beating Chapter 1 is a good test of whether you have learned the basic mechanics the game is trying to teach you. The only truly difficult part is the boss battle at the end, against Murai. Murai will block or avoid most attacks. The way to beat him is to wait until he performs his dash attack or a roll, then perform X, X, Y. You can also try spamming wall attacks, but the "proper" method is faster and more consistent by far.
