You will get this trophy once you have scanned/discovered all animals on 10 planets.

There are a lot of planets with only one animal, and you usually find it within a minute of landing. Focus on those, and you can get this trophy within an hour.

You need to Scan all Animals on 10 Planets. Easy you say? Not so much.

There are two ways to go about this.

The Hard Way
Just thoroughly search every planet you visit and keep your eye on the Discoveries tab. The animals which have not been scanned will appear as entries declaring rarity (this is very relative, as I've been looking fruitlessly on some planets for supposedly "Common" species for hours to no avail. At the very least it should tell you if the beasties appear around buildings, in caverns or underwater.

But like I said, this is VERY random. There are planets with some 12-14 different species and those can be a real PAIN. A couple of times I found that I was seeing red blips underground and I assumed that there were in a cave. To my surprise when I dug with the Manipulator I found that they were just moving through solid soil for no apparent reason.

So unless you intend to spend hours on this achievement there is the...

The Right Way
Your best bet is to find Anomalous planets, you will know when you land on them since nor the fauna look like animals nor the flora like plants. These places are like something out of a mild acid trip. On these planets, there is usually just one type of creature and they are not really hard to find. These occur more often around the rarer types of stars, but you can even find some around Yellow ones.

As of writing this, I am halfway there myself and I've just about had enough of looking in regular planets. I have several planets with 1 or 2 species left to find and I just quit them after hours of having no luck with the last one or two species.

Good luck and remember to check the skies and bodies of water when looking in normal planets!

After update 1.03 , to get this trophy you need to find and scan all creatures on 10 planets.

Before the release of update 1.03 , it was enough to simply find, scan and upload 60 creatures to the cloud.

For detailed information on the series of trophies in this section, see the tip for the trophy “A Scanner Darkly”.

You can scan empty planets, without life forms. They also count, at least in version 1.03. Most often, moons are lifeless; the number of moons in the system is visible on the galactic map.

Scan some stone there and send empty 100% and so on 10 planets.

A simple way to scan animals.
Look for blue stars with 4-5 planets, warp there, scan the planets. You need a Bubble Planet , a Flat Planet , a Hexagonal Planet and a Planet with a Ridge . There is always 1 type of animal on them and they are always not far from the ship, you have to walk 200-300u maximum.

If you suddenly are also a “happy” trophychanter, who was lucky enough to buy the game at the start, successfully quit, and a year later return to finish off the platinum and face one serious problem, when no matter how many animals you scan, no progress is made - here’s the solution for you:

When you have collected all the animals on the planet, click on the silver icon, it will turn gold and ta-da!! Everything is working.

P.S. - scroll through the old planets, perhaps there is already a complete set there

Patch 2.30+

The best option is to visit Exotic planets (https://nomanssky.gamepedia.com/Biome_-_Exotic)
They always have only 1 type of Fauna to scan

Examples of planets that I personally came across:
Spore
Metal
Framed
Overgrown with shells
Segmented
Outlined

I also recommend doing this closer to the center of the galaxy, since most of the systems there have already been opened not by you, and accordingly, all the information about the planets has also already been collected and you will immediately receive it in the Discovery menu as soon as you jump into an already explored system.
The fastest way to get to the center is through a friend or through a portal on board the Anomaly station, which you can call at any time in outer space. While on it, through its portal, you can jump to the base of another player, who will most often be located close to the center of the universe

It is best to choose planets with rich/generous/abundant, etc. fauna. The number of species does not always depend on this indicator, but even if there are 12-14 species, then if the spawn is high, you will find 10 of them right next to the ship, since there will be a lot of animals and the chance of rare ones appearing is higher. On planets with rare fauna, you can search for 5 species for an hour and not find them(.
Some animals appear only at night, especially predators.
By the way, the planets are heterogeneous, some have water, but it is very rare. If you see even a small puddle, it means there are larger bodies of water and there may be life in them.

I found the most optimal way. The latest patches, where you need to find all the animals. We are looking for Moons since they are very small, respawn zones are reduced to a minimum, the fauna is FULL or ABUNDANT. I haven’t checked the quantity, I will only say what I found in 30 minutes 10 of 10.

Don’t focus on one planet, you can’t find it, move on to the next one. There are planets that are very light in this regard, with animals. The worst problem in my opinion is with underground animals, I skipped these planets. Flying, ground, underwater are very simple. The trophy is actually simple! 10 planets is not that much.

Hello everyone, I want to share with you very useful tips that will make your life easier in finding animals on planets, and also speed up receiving the coveted gold prize.

So:

Often players have a problem finding one or two remaining animals, most often they are birds/cave animals or underwater animals.

Very important! in the lists "????????????" underwater animals are at the very bottom, above them are cave creatures, and then birds (if one of these species is not on the planet, then the order will change accordingly). This will help you navigate who you haven't found. Higher up are the animals that are easier to find.

- Birds . Most often found in lowlands. The problem lies in scanning them; often the birds move so chaotically that it is impossible to aim, but everything is solved with a simple shot from a plasma thrower. After the bird falls to the ground, it can be safely marked.

- Cave animals . The most controversial inhabitants of the planets. Most often they appear in the form of crab-like creatures (with many legs) and are hostile towards the player. But there are exceptions (both in appearance and behavior). They can be found in caves and outdoor locations with cave flora.

- Underwater . It is best to look in the largest bodies of water on the planet, this is where the probability of spawning is highest. If the planet is poor in seas and lakes, look for the largest body of water, and then save at the nearest recovery point. After loading the game several times and testing the waters, you can find the spawned beast.

During your search, I advise you to use such exosuit enhancements as “Life support system module”, “Jetpack amplifier”, “Improving endurance” and a protection system from harmful factors suitable for external conditions.

Thank you for your attention and enjoy the game!

To save resources! We land on the desired planet. And we run away from the ship in search of the necessary animals. Scanned and uploaded to the cloud. If you feel that you are already far away and there are no new animals, then reload the save. All your discoveries will be saved if you uploaded them to the cloud. However, it is also worth loading 100% after reloading the save, so that it remains in the statistics. Otherwise, it turns out that you found the right animal, downloaded 100% and rebooted. The statistics will be the same.

For version 1.13, empty planets no longer count towards the count , they cannot be “Turned in”.
Also, in version 1.13 (and obviously in 1.22) there is no need to shoot down flying creatures. They can be scanned by pointing the visor and zooming in on the area between the flying creatures (Usually 3-4 individuals fly).
The hint above about planets rich in fauna is correct; if you land and there is no abundant spawn around, then fly in the direction where there are the most white dots (creatures out of range of the visor).
Also, all unexplored creatures are sorted according to the same principle:
  • 1) Sorting goes Left -> Right , that is:
    12
    3 - 4
    5 - 6.... Etc.
  • 2) First on the list are predators (if there are any on the planet), some predators appear only at night .
  • 3) Some flying creatures can be migratory, meaning they need to be scanned while they fly by, so look at the sky often.
  • 4) The sorting of creatures is as follows: Predators -> Ordinary terrestrial creatures -> Flying -> Underground (check the caves) -> Inhabitants of water bodies (if there is water on the planet, then someone must live there)

Remember to load 100% progress when you find all the creatures on the planet.

For those who wanted platinum and who have already played enough time, and who perhaps have one “Galapagos” trophy left and don’t have time to spend another 6+ hours . Here's what I found to avoid farming the search and scan of animals.

1) It is necessary to make an “indium engine”
2) Start jumping only on blue stars on the map.
3) Search for planets
a) Strange names. I found something like “bubble planet”, “ridge planet”, etc., the name of which catches the eye.
b) On the planet, when scanned from space, there should be only THREE resources. One of them must be indium. There should be no salt. And there shouldn't be any water.
c) We land on the planet and find only ONE animal there. Rather, it’s some kind of anomaly; I came across a Bubble, plants that move underground. Once I even came across an invisible fire that could not be scanned.
4) We fly around and find such planets on blue stars and we’re done.

It took me 30-60 minutes.

In my practice, it is better to look for blue stars with 4-5 planets in free mode and choose a planet with 3 resources, because there are from 1 to 4 species there (there may be no animals, which at the moment do not count), The achievement took no more than 1 hour.
Don't forget to unload the discovered fauna in exchange for nanites for scoring.
