How to unlock the Galactic Power achievement in No More Heroes 3 - Definitive Guide

No More Heroes 3Galactic PowerThe Galactic Power achievement in No More Heroes 3 worth 688 pointsAcquire all Death Glove Chips

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the ultimate test of patience. For this bad boy of an achievement, you must obtain all 52 Death Glove Chips in the game. Death Glove Chips are equip items that provide Travis with stat altering effects to his attack power, damage taken, death glove skill duration and much more. In No More Heroes 3, these chips have essentially replaced the upgradable beam katanas of previous games. Death Glove Chips are obtained by crafting them with junk materials dropped after battles and side missions. You can craft them at Naomi's lab on the basement floor of the hotel; simply approach the computer and press cn_A to start crafting or equipping. When crafting, the computer will tell you what materials you need and how many of them in order to create a chip. You will need to have obtained said junk material in order for it to be listed. Though it must be emphasized, that this solution will primarily act as a roadmap toward the achievement as opposed to a precise guide on how to craft all 52 individual Death Glove Chips. For a complete list of all Death Glove Chips, materials needed to craft them, cost in Uc, and their effects, you can instead refer to the link below:

To begin with, here are some general factoids about Death Glove Chips:

• Aside from junk materials, you'll also need Uc to craft Death Glove chips.
• You can equip up to 3 chips max to Travis' Death Glove.
• For the majority of the chips, you can create up to 3 of them in total.
• Death Glove Chip effects DO in fact stack when multiple of the same type are equipped.
• Crafting the Z Chip (No. 46) will make the process toward this achievement tremendously easier. See “Getting the Z Chip” section below for details.
• Other useful chips you may want to craft earlier on include the Legend Chip, Great Chip EX, and Tiga Chip.

About Junk Farming:
This is the loot of No More Heroes 3. Junk is dropped for Travis each time you complete a Defense Mission, Designated Match, Boss Fight, or certain Volunteer Missions. There are 4 types of junk: Common (green), Uncommon (yellow), Rare (blue), and Super Rare (pink). The rarer the junk type, the lower percentage chance it has of dropping with the Super Rare junk ONLY dropping by defeating Bosses on Death difficulty via the Time Travel Machine (in Naomi’s Lab). Over the course of the game, you'll naturally accumulate tons of junk simply from clearing Defense Missions and beating the game multiple times. So you'll be able to craft a decent amount of chips without any concerted effort. Any unwanted junk found can simply be sold at the Beef Head Music store for quick and easy money. Do note that some junk can only be found during the Special Missions which are randomly generated anywhere a Defense Mission point is normally found. You’ll know it’s a Special Mission because the icon on the ground will be larger than the usual Defense Mission markers (and there’ll only be one). See the “Special Missions & Other Junk” section for more information on how to manipulate the RNG for those.

On balance, junk is farmed by completing Ranked Matches, Designated Matches, and Defense Missions repeatedly until you have enough of what you need. However, most of your time for this achievement will be spent farming junk by rematching Death Mode bosses at the Time Travel Machine. Up front, the Super Rare junk items are the main drops you'll want to go after as they produce the best chips in the game which can make this process easier. It is strongly recommended to wait until you have crafted and equipped the Z Chip before you start farming for this achievement. This chip will make nearly every combat encounter totally trivial but you'll need to rematch the bosses on the highest difficulty (Death) in order to have a chance of getting the junk needed to craft it. You will also need multiples of some of these super rare drops in order to craft all 52 chips. For a list of every Super Rare item that could be dropped from Bosses on Death difficulty (Time Machine only), simply click the following spoiler:

Special Missions & Other Junk:
Not only Defense Missions but some junk can only be found by completing Special Missions. These are the Space Battle missions of the game. During these, Travis will enter Full Armor Mode and go into space to battle a giant alien threat. There are a total of 4 different Special Missions. To make them available, you need to beat the Space Bosses in Designated matches before they appear as special missions during Story Mode. Once unlocked, said special mission will then randomly take the place of any Defense Mission location. Just remember that if you start a New Game+ you'll need to beat them again in order for them to randomly generate. Be informed that no special missions will appear if you don't beat Ice Shaver in the designated match in Thunderdome (prior to the Native Dancer fight). When grinding junk items dropped by Space Monsters, try fast traveling to Neo Brazil repeatedly and searching all 3 Defense Mission points until the one you’re looking for appears. Wherever you decide to farm for them, you can find Defense Missions points by checking your map (marked with a green crossed swords icon). The following junk might be dropped when defeating the Space Monsters during Special Missions:

• Special Mission 1: Ice Shaver (Ice Shaver Monster Core)
• Special Mission 2: Space Sheath (Space Sheath Monster Core)
• Special Mission 3: Space Peacock (Space Peacock Monster Core)
• Special Mission 4: Mr. Blackhole (Moon Dust, Coconut, Shedded Snake Skin, Satellite Fragment)

You can increase your chances of finding the special mission you want by starting further New Game+ save files, and only playing far enough into the story where only certain Special Missions can be unlocked and generated. This way, later special missions will be absent from the randomized pool and you'll have a better chance of getting the ones you want so you can grind the junk you need. Though, it should be noted that the Space Peacock Monster Core (Special Mission 3) seems to have a comparatively lower drop rate over the other rare junk items.

Also, if you need Minorus Drive Gear, Leopardium Alloy, or Alien Hair Conditioner, the enemies that may drop them appear in Defense Mission 4 (Santa Destroy, South West) and Defense Mission 45 (Neo Brazil, North). For all else, see the link below for any information regarding Defense Missions:

Getting the Z Chip
To make grinding for junk materials less painful, you’ll definitely want to first farm for the Z Chip (No.46). This is a chip that when equipped allows Travis to use Death Glove Skills without any cool down. So you can simply cast Death Slow and Death Shower then spam Death Kick or Push forever until nearly any enemy is defeated. But before doing any of this, it is advised to wait until you've at least beaten the game, unlocked New Game+, upgraded everything in the skill tree, and have at least some attack buff Death Glove chips already crafted to help with defeating the bosses (such as the Great Chip or Dyna Chips). Nevertheless, if you want to get the Z Chip, make sure you first do the following:

• Beat the game to unlock New Game +
• Load your save and use the Time Machine to rematch Damon to farm enough WESN to fully upgrade Travis’ Skill Tree
• Start a New Game + on Berry Sweet
• Once you have full access to Travis' apartment, go to the Basement and start rematching bosses on Death difficulty
• Continue to rematch them until you have all necessary junk to create the Z Chip

Note: You will have to defeat the Bosses on the lower difficulties first in order to fight them on Death difficulty. Also, rematching Bosses on the higher difficulties will cost some WESN. But in the long run, this won’t matter after you defeat them and receive a turn profit of WESN as a reward.

Junk Needed to Craft Z Chip:

Be informed, that starting out, beating the bosses on Death difficulty will be very challenging since they have so much health and you die in one hit! Even after you start to memorize their attack patterns, there's still the lingering dread of getting killed and having to sit through Travis' death animation repeatedly! Therefore, make sure you purchase sushi to-go and use it during battles to give Travis buffs for more efficiency. Purchase the Ikura sushi to give Travis an attack buff or Ebi for faster cool downs, equip the Great Chip EX and Dyna Chip EX (or any chips you have that increases attack power), and abuse the Roulette Wheel mini game every time you die. The more you die the slower the wheel will become, making it easier to land on Damon for the x1.5 attack boost and then Jeane so you can be revived and resume the battle. Still, this step will probably be the most challenging part due to the grueling boss fights and the patience needed to get the drops you need. But once you have all the junk required for the Z Chip, it will all be worth it in the end. Afterward, you can also try grinding for the Legend Chip (No. 52) which makes the first swing of the Beam Katana shoot an air slash projectile that can potentially stun bosses. This is especially useful for the Sonic Juice boss fight where you can spam it from afar while dodging his attacks, only getting in close once you get him into a stun (then just spam Death Slow and attack relentlessly). Otherwise, the Z Chip alone is only so useful for that particular fight.

WARNING: Getting super rare loot drops for all Death Glove Chips will take an indeterminate amount of time. They may drop when defeating bosses after a handful of rematches or after 30+ fights resulting in hours of grinding! It's been reported that defeating Bosses on Death difficulty with S or SS Ranks will increase the chance of them dropping super rare junk, but this has not yet been 100% confirmed. Ultimately, it is RNG and the percentage chance of getting super rare drops is still very low. Be mindful of this when grinding as, on occasion, it can take a demoralizing amount of time to get even a single super rare drop!

Finally, once you have the necessary junk materials, go to the super computer and create the Z Chip. Next, equip the chip to Travis granting him unlimited use of Death Glove Skills and thus making nearly every battle completely effortless (Sonic Juice and Fu on Carolina Reaper may differ). Now farming for junk against Death Mode bosses will require way less effort itself but still quite time-consuming due to the low chance of them dropping super rare junk. Either way, it is during this step where you’ll begin mopping up the rest of your junk needed to craft any remaining Death Glove Chips you still don’t have. At this point you may already be able to craft a fair amount of chips with the junk you’ve earned from playing through the game naturally. There’s also the option of going down the list of chips you need and keeping a checklist of what junk materials you need so that you don’t have to keep revisiting the computer to check as you make progress. Once again, you can refer to the aforementioned link for a full list of every chip and how to craft it:

https://game8.co/games/NoMoreHeroes3/archives/340773

You can also use the Z Chip to easily breeze through the game on Spicy and (not as easily get through the game) on Carolina Reaper difficulty. But it is totally up to the player when is the most convenient time to actually grind the rest of this achievement out. As mentioned prior, this solution primarily serves as a roadmap to make the process less painstaking, but still time-consuming in the long run.

You have no idea how amazing your tip is to use the Legend chip on Sonic Juice, that fight becomes way less tedious to grind for Z Chip, thank you, great guide overall too btw!
