This level is of interest for a handful of reasons, starting with it being of more complex design than the first level. It is also the first level in which the track changes its layout as you progress and, most importantly, it is both the first and easiest place to run in small loops and/or get stuck in corners, which will be important when aiming for a 1000 points score. I suggest reading the guide for Palace 
and try to use that advice any chance you get.
Due to the varying height of the track, level 02 is also the first level that allows you to use shortcuts by running off track and since you will become really fast with very tight turns to take, it is highly recommended to make good use of that towards the end. I personally believe this level is nigh impossible to beat otherwise on PS4. (The PC version seems to allow you to take turns in quicker succession than the PS4 version does.)
The following strategy eventually worked for me, but feel free to find your own.
Run right, then follow the track until you reach the first small loop around a mermaid. Take the right path, but don't run in a loop here. There are two orange orbs not too far away from each other. Try to take both now, the first one might and the second one will definitely be out of reach when you return here.
When you reach the spot of the first orb for the second time, the track will change and lead you into a rectangular loop dead end. Instead of leaving it after the first loop, circle this area three times. This is vital! Now when you finally leave the loop the track requires you to run right, left, left, right,left, left, right, right in very quick succession. Then, instead of following the track to the left, run off it straight on and almost immediately as you are in the air, turn right. You should land on the track and have skipped the most difficult part of the level.
Follow it until you see a large statue pointing to the left and heed its advice. Soon after that, you will reach the level's exit, but the next one will not load unless you ran in a loop those three times earlier. So do have done it.
