How to unlock the Transcend achievement in Novadrome - Definitive Guide
Once you unlock Human Race in career mode, go to Arcade Challenge and pick your fastest (best grip) car. Choose the race called Artifice. The AI in this map sucks so you can win a lap ahead easily.
As the achievement description says this has to be done in Arcade Challenge mode so unfortunately you can't play around with the settings like you can in other modes.
I guess you could do this on any track but after trying them out I decided that Argentine Plaza was the best shot because it's fairly long and has a lot of hazards which means more places for the AI to either mess up or get distracted. And you will rely on the AI making mistakes to unlock this achievement.
Obviously you want to be racing in the car that has the best power and grip, for me I found Holdon to be the best. Eel is good for speed but it gets destroyed quite easily which is a pretty big downside. You may have to play a reasonable amount of the campaign mode to unlock these vehicles.
On Arcade Mode you have 4 laps and in my experience a nice clean lap of Argentine Plaza in a fast vehicle should take about 90 seconds. You should constantly see messages popping up telling you how many seconds behind your nearest rival is so you can use this to gauge how well you're doing. By the time you're getting towards the end of the 4th lap you want the messages showing they're more than 90 seconds behind and you will overtake them on the track unless they're offroading or respawning. A message appears saying when someone starts their final lap so if you see this you've failed and need to restart.
You will need to get a feel for the track. It's not hard to pull off a perfect lap but you need to learn the best line and how to avoid all the hazards. Try to get an early lead in the race and hope that the AI drivers mess up. Seeing as it's really a destruction derby game you will find that a number of them give up on the checkpoints very early and spend their time driving around trying to destroy each other and you. Usually this won't leave more than a few cars actually racing and hopefully they will get slowed down by the other drivers and the hazards. You can also try to sabotage the other drivers but it's definitely not worth going out of your way at all to do so.
This is where it becomes heavily luck based because the AI drivers are very unpredictable. As well you needing to have a perfect race you will be relying on all the AI drivers to have really bad races and you may need to try it multiple times before all those things come together. I sat down this evening having not played the game in over 2 years and it took me at least a couple of hours running this race over and over before the AI had a particularly terrible race and I finally succeeded.
