How to unlock the Never Look Back achievement in Nuclear Throne - Definitive Guide
Some tips for Rogue:
- Her active is a very strong boss killer and good for saving yourself in a painful situation. Often times the IDPD makes things difficult for Rogue, I recommend getting used to using her active a bit less frugally as it’s something that’s easy to forget about. For bosses I usually tank all 3 of the strikes at once (except for on bandit I use 2).
- The IDPD that show up constantly take some getting used to, they make the run much harder. The shield enemies can still be melee’d while the shield is up. Be careful using bullet weapons around them, the shield is a run killer
- her passive shoots an orb shield sort of thing around you when you’re damaged. If you’re near a car or something explosive without boiling veins this is a run killer, be careful around explosive things.
- The rogue rifle is solid, I kept this as my starter weapon. It’s good through the initial loop IMO for crowd control and keep a DPS weapon for bosses or melee as a secondary. If I got lucky with 2 better weapons than the rogue rifle I’d swap for that but it doesn’t always happen
- captain fight. It’s up to you, but I hopped in the fight as soon as I managed to hijack a van. If you don’t know how to enter the captain fight, enter loop 1 then wait for a van. Run up behind it as soon as it spawns and when it stops press X to enter. It’s a short window to enter, only about 1 second worth of timing. You want a melee weapon for hitting away bullets and sending the orbs back at captain, they do big damage. Best case scenario is have a melee weapon and a high DPS weapon like a plasma cannon, auto xbow, etc. The fight is very bullet hellish and the captains spawns are eratic and extremely damaging. Keep a moderate distance from her at times
