How to unlock the Unstoppable achievement in Nuclear Throne - Definitive Guide
Don’t try going after this until you’ve done everything else in the game except for the %100 achievement (though I recommend getting most of the crowns first for skill reasons). Hopefully you got the golden nuke launcher for good riddance, if so proto chest it over to melting. Personally I got the golden disc for that cheevo. I think the golden nuke launcher would have heavily trivialized the amount of luck required for this, so I definitely recommend getting the golden nuke if you still have the gun gun in the proto chest.
First thing you need to do is prep for becoming skeleton. In order to become skeleton, you need to die in a necro circle in labs. Bring an explosive weapon with you so you can kill yourself and don’t get boiling veins. Of course you could use any SD possible weapon for this, but the only feasible weapons are explosives and blood weapons. Make sure you’re in the center of the circle when you blow yourself up and you’re quick to act, because the freaks can spawn and kill you quickly. It’s a bit specific on the timing. Also it’s a good idea to farm freaks at least until you’re at 4 health and level 2 going into palace.
Next, you have 2 options to do this achievement. First is the psychopathic method of farming freaks for 7 hours. Here’s a video to show you what I mean
This is a last resort option. It’s much more annoying than it looks. First you need an explosive and melee weapon, preferably the wrench for reload timer reasons. Sledge and Shovel take too long inbetween use to recommend using, as you’re very vulnerable as skeleton. At 4 health, you can take 2 hits max before you die which is more likely to happen than you’d expect over a 7 hour run. Also it’s recommended you open up the map with the explosive for room like in the video. I tried this a few times and it’s a pain. One, it’s excruciatingly boring. Two, it’s hard not to go brain dead and accidentally melee the necro at some point over the 7 hours if he comes at you fast. Three, the freaks spawn a few at once sometimes and skeleton is very slow so a careless miss or bad angle is GG.
I recommend at least trying to get this normally first. The best explosives I can recommend are the nuke launcher and grenade rifle if you find them. Not only are they perfect for SDing, but they’re viable weapons to loop throne. See, the reason this achievement is so RNG is because your map layout and guns you get are often borderline impossible. You’re using a handicapped character who dies in essentially one hit and moves somewhere between 1/3 and 1/4 the normal movement speed. Also, skeleton has no mutations upon spawning in so you are a blank slate and have to go through palace, throne, throne 2, looped desert + double bandits, mom, and possibly hyper crystal before you reach ultra.
Here’s skeletons stats
Reduced movement speed
4 health
Active = blood gamble. I can’t see a situation really where this is going to be effective. When you’re out of ammo on your weapon, if you use blood gamble it’ll use one bullet and take 1 health. Maybe this could be useful with some of the OP weapons like the SPC, who knows.
Mutations: According to the PSN guide your mutation list for the run as melting gets repeated as skeleton, but I didn’t confirm. The ones that are the most important are gamma guts, boiling veins (assuming you loop with an explosive), rhino skin and strong spirit. Also as melting I would use open mind to better my chances to find an explosive weapon
Lil hunter: One of the most annoying parts of this achievement is using an explosive weapon with no boiling veins + melee to kill lil hunter in 5-3. If you spawn in an open area it’s basically GG. Scarier face helps a lot with killing hunter quick, you really gotta work the room with this handicapped setup to progress into labs as melting.
Labs: Most important thing here is that you have gamma guts. I always gun immediately for the exploders and kill all but one necro before I change into skeleton. Be wary that sometimes necros won’t spawn at all, and sometimes there will only be 1 and it gets killed by the exploders. This is why it’s important to explore labs and try to separate the necro and kill everyone else first.
Palace: Okay so you probably don’t have back ammo so ammo conservation is important for the throne loop. Palace can be borderline impossible depending on your setup + spawn. The puppers are run killers if you spawn too close to one and the IDPD can be problematic too. I usually tried to high range DPS the enemies while meleeing the royal guards here and there
Throne: Take whatever the best DPS gun you find in palace for this fight. If you have the nuke launcher or grenade rifle it’s super doable to loop both throne and beat throne 2. Throne should be pretty easy if this is your last cheevo so even the 1 hit kill situation isn’t the worst in the world. I find it’s most important to have high ammo/DPS to confirm that you can even get the loop. My biggest tip for throne 1 and 2 is that if you don’t have enough ammo to kill the boss off through spamming, farm ammo early in the fight before he’s highly damaged and starts throwing out projectiles like crazy and makes things impossible.
Desert: Here’s the problem I found going into loop desert. You need to maintain distance to get kills, but you also need to pick up the rads to level up. I would usually try staying in my little hubby hole that you spawn in and melee everything that walks up to you and quickly peak out to grab rads. Prioritize snipers and hopefully you have gamma guts for the maggots + general survivability. No tips for the IDPD, they’re tough. Especially the rocket one and plasma cannon one. It takes some solid footwork and luck. The double bandits are also troublesome because they spawn next to you usually and can corner you. Try to force them into a dash and get the 1HKO melee on them.
Sewer: I got lucky and a nuke launcher came into my portal into here. Mom died in 3 or 4 hits because of that but if you don’t have something with super high DPS you may get a run end here. Honestly this is the most luck based fight I think for that reason. If things get out of hand there will be an impossible amount of toxic frogs running around too. First try and kill everything else before getting to the mom fight, then focus on her. My lightning hammer really helped with the frogs
Wasteland: It starts to get easier here. You should be level 8 by now and getting more confident. I found an SPC here and got an accidental 1HKO on big dog from afar so I don’t have any tips for that fight since i’ve never experienced it as skeleton. As always, unlucky bs can happen at any time kill your run
Caves: If you still haven’t hit ultra here, good luck. I managed to hit it in here by focusing on other enemies first until I hit ultra but I wholeheartedly feel I got extremely lucky because the crystals + IDPD + general enemies make this area nearly undoable.
In the end this took me ~20 hours. I’m really mad this achievement exists, it’s VERY unfair and luck based. No amount of skill can guarantee you a run for this cheevo.

I farmed labs to level 6 (maybe half an hour?) until I killed the necro by accident. Used the wrench and the golden nuke until I found a sledge in looped desert. Hit ultra on 3-2. Left the nuke on the ground if something dropped like auto crossbow or heavy MG, but made sure to grab the nuke before I left in the portal. Hammerhead, Rhino, Boiling Veins each saved my ass more than once. Long Arms and Gamma Guts let me play it safe.
In the end I had favorable RNG, and farming labs definitely helped to go into palace with some mutations. Got this on my second time turning into skeleton, died in the labs the first time.
