Nothing notable happened when I did it. No game over screen or even any kind of in game indication, so it should be fine.
Then again, I got it by taking a synchrozine pill immediately upon arriving at the apartment blocks, so maybe not worth risking it on a no death playthrough.

Do it at the Beginning then delete your save file. It will work unless the game is Glitched.
