Runelord is a secret job in Octopath Traveler; in order to obtain it you have to traverse the Shrine of the Runeblade, a LEVEL 50 Dungeon located south of Everhold in the Highlands.
Like every secret job you'll have to defeat a Boss at the end of the dungeon. These fights can be challenging if you're underleveled or don't have a solid plan of action so I'll try to help with that.
Shrine of the Runeblade's boss is Balogar.
Balogar has 200.000 hp, he's capable of several actions per turn, and the fight against him is divided in 2 phases:

Like every secret job you'll have to defeat a Boss at the end of the dungeon. These fights can be challenging if you're underleveled or don't have a solid plan of action so I'll try to help with that.
Shrine of the Runeblade's boss is Balogar.
Balogar has 200.000 hp, he's capable of several actions per turn, and the fight against him is divided in 2 phases:
-On the 1st phase Balogar will lock 3 of his weaknesses, and he will target your travelers individually (this will give us the upperhand for the first part of the battle)
-The 2nd phase starts when Balogar is below 50% HP. The Boss will gain shields and actions per turn, and his attacks will target your entire party.
It's a tough fight and HAVING A TRAVELER WITH BOTH MERCHANT AND WARRIOR JOBS IS KEY. Another member of your party should be an Apothecary paired with merchant aswell. Bring a healer and some support character and the fight is yours.-The 2nd phase starts when Balogar is below 50% HP. The Boss will gain shields and actions per turn, and his attacks will target your entire party.

This sounds good in theory. But in the 2nd phase of the fight Balogar starts hitting everyone multiple times in a row and once a single character dies it becomes a race to my death.

The, Pants, Party
This job can be obtained by visiting the Shrine of the Runeblade, located in West Everhold Pass. Unlike the basic eight starting jobs which just have a shrine that you need to interact with to obtain the job, the four advanced jobs all have a proper dungeon and superboss to defeat to unlock the job and achievement.
