How to unlock the Fleetfoot achievement in OCTOPATH TRAVELER - Definitive Guide

Sorry but the other guide is just guessing and not very good.

Common consensus seems to be that you can’t take more than 8 hours.

Once again I’ll be referring to the Blessed Saint “marcv666” over at the steam forums. His guide got me through the SOLO and SPEEDRUN in 6.5 hours as TRESSA THE MERCHANT. Although his guide isn’t specifically a speed run guide.

Give the guys yt a sub, he put in a ton of work in the guide. (The YouTube channel on its own isn’t very useful though)

I wasn’t super efficient, I could’ve grinded for xp more and I wasn’t super efficient with my route eg I can’t say I needed to get the THIEF, MERCHANT shrines or visit every town (although some did help for gear).

As I said I could’ve grinded some more and as a result the chapter 3 boss was a little tougher and the chapter 4 boss was was really tough. Ch4 took about 10 attempts

I just did this solo with Tressa with no real issues - finished at 7 hours exactly, but I took some extra time to get the missable monsters for the achievement for idenitfiying all weaknesses.

I also struggled a bit in the Ice Maw, you need to switch over to hunter and use arrowstorm there instead of going in as sorcerer.

Other then that, last boss took a couple tries but the fight was very predictable (outside of how often patience triggers).

Honestly getting evasive maneuvers was probably the hardest part.

Happy to answer any questions since it's recent in my mind.

Like Jazz above I finished at lvl 49. I never felt really rushed like some other time-based completions. I can at least confirm that 7 hours is acceptable (the title says up to 8).

I finished at 7hrs 36mins and it popped (I accidentally left it running for an hour while leveling in the Ice Maw and hadn't saved for a while so I kept going). 8hrs is definitely the cutoff.

I gotta do this tomorrow... I really don't like speedruns, so fingers crossed I can manage it.

I recall it being rough and just making it. Hoped it’d be smoother.

I followed the TA guide exactly. My end time was 4:34 but with dying, loading, reloading, it was probably 2 or 3 times that long. The last boss was a bit tough & took 3 or 4 tries.

It was so satisfying once I got to the first boosting zone. After dying so much, it was awesome eating all the boost items and just destroying things with lightning.

I also used the above guide to complete the solo achievement with this one as well. I didn't really need to get the Thief or Merchant shrines either. Here's a couple notes for people doing it if you wanted to see the different time milestones I was at:

A couple hours was spent going to all the Ch 1 towns and grinding a little for Evasive Maneuvers

I leveled to 30 in Tomb of Kings after the Ch 2 boss - 3hr mark

After running around getting all the gear and nuts I leveled to 45 in Maw of the Ice Dragon and then beat Ch 3 boss - 5hr mark

I grinded to 49 in the Maw and finished getting all the passives for the Ch 4 boss fight. I also went and got 8 Refreshing Jam and 8 Revitalizing Jam. I only ended up using 2 or 3 Refreshing Jams and about 6 Revitalizing. You definitely want the Revitalizing Jams. I also had about 250k leaves, I'd say you'd want at least this much for summoning hired guards. - 6 hr mark

The boss should take about 5 mins.

Does the time flow in pause mode?
Sometimes I had to go to somewhere and I leave the game standby so knowing this in advance could help a lot.

Thanks.

Similar to the apparently salty user who posted above. There is a speedrunner on YouTube, AnimeFanX11, who has ~2 hour runs for most characters solo which will give a lot of room for mistakes/cautiousness on the requirement for this achievement (assumed to be less than 8 hours). This will also net you Lone Traveler if you have not yet completed it:
Octopath TravelerLone TravelerThe Lone Traveler achievement in Octopath Traveler worth 524 pointsSaw your journey through without aid from others.

I followed his run (1hr 37m) and completed with Tressa at level 35 in 3hr 35m. The reason for the discrepancy other than my carefulness is that he uses one glitch to get an item to sell for 15k and it's not easily achieved on Xbox. But that gold can be made through grinding or just checking a chest checklist for unobtained gold like in the Derelict Mine or Carrion Caves.

Required 180k gold exactly to summon the veteran soldiers to beat the final boss. It did take a little bit of luck (~7 tries on final boss) due to turn rolls.

Here is his Solo Playlist. He has other runs than Tressa though I'm sure most rely on Merchant Hire:

I really enjoyed using this video over the other guide, not that the steam one wasn't extremely thorough, but it was a little too thorough at times. This video gave me what felt like a ton of wiggle room to do anything extra that helped me feel more confident going into the boss fights.

One thing I did different, since I knew I was going to need to grind a little extra gold, (because of the glitch he used on PC for the spear) I used an extra 500 JP for Tressa during the Tomb grinding, to buy one more skill and get her grows on trees perk. This helped a lot for saving some time getting the extra gold. Finished at level 40 and just under 3 and 1/2 hours.

Thank you for posting this, as it is a lot easier to follow for me than the text guide from Steam. I just wanted to add that in the description of one of his videos he includes a link to another Youtube video that shows how to get to the item you referenced on Xbox. It involves turning the Xbox off at the same time you input avoiding the boss after being prompted to fight or walk away. It is not necessary as you noted, but it is possible for those who wish to try.

Just to echo GrimacetheGrey's comment, I too grinded to level 37 in the tomb with Tressa as the video contains a glitch for PC that I couldn't replicate, I also spent another 5000 JP on the SP Saver to make the grind easier on SP resources and I finished on 3hr 15 minutes.

I would recommend using Tressa's speedrun, I tried using Therion speed run but the last boss requires you to trigger an AI glitch to limit his turn to only once in between your turn when he is below 50%- I could never get the turns and conditions to match the video to achieve this and had to abandon it.

For this achievement, you must beat the game in under eight hours. This sounds difficult, but you only need to complete the four chapters of one specific character's journey to accomplish this. In your main playthrough, you'd be recruiting all characters and doing a ton of extra content that can be skipped here. You will want to couple this achievement with a solo run to unlock Lone Traveler (50G) at the same time. While this does make the speed run slightly more difficult, it is still entirely doable. In fact, you can complete it in about 5-6 hours fairly easily with Tressa, and each character generally has a viable option to do so as well.

The guide found HERE will lay out how to do the solo speed run. It focuses mostly on Tressa, but does offer tips on other characters as well.
