This is story related and can’t be missed!
During the 4th level - The Funicular you will be tasked with collecting items to craft an item to help out some Mudokons. You will follow a fairly linear path entering new caves to collect the next new item required for the recipe.
It may be possible to unlock this earlier, as I unlocked the recipe for a Stun Mine in an earlier level, but I didn’t seem to get the parts required to craft it
