For each non-tutorial level, there are 3 challenges to complete. These challenges include doing things such as smashing into every one of an object on the course, avoiding all of a certain object on the course, high-fiving a character (which is done automatically as you pass them), doing something within a combo, etc.

The total number of challenges in each area are:
Sunshine Valley: 45
Cloverbrook: 42
Burntrock: 39
Sketchside: 39
Los Vulgas: 36

Bringing the grand total to 201 challenges in the game. So, you certainly have a lot of leeway with these achievements.

Also keep in mind if you are trying to complete each set of Masteries for each Skate God, you will unlock these achievements anyway as you must complete all challenges for the first 4 areas as a part of the Masteries. If you are not trying to complete each set Skate God’s Masteries, then I would definitely suggest completing challenges in the first couple of areas as they are much easier and only get more difficult as you progress through the game.

I would also like to suggest that if you like to focus on getting high scores, as well as finishing these challenges, then do so in separate runs. Once I realized that and relieved myself of that pressure, it made going for either much easier.
