How to unlock the Certified Professional achievement in OlliOlli2: XL Edition - Definitive Guide

In every one of the 50 levels (25 Amateur/25 Pro) there are 5 challenges. The top two are always a score to beat followed by a combo to reach and how you must land it for it to count. The other 3 challenges vary from level to level. Some times it may be collect all of item [x] and finish or finish in so many seconds or any number of other tasks.

You will have to have mastered all the techniques the game has to offer before attempting the challenges on the final levels. The video below shows me completing what I consider the hardest challenge in the game: Include 9 Revert Manuals and 9 Grind Switches in a level long combo!

If this looks like it's going to be too much, you may consider passing up on this monstrous challenge. If not, remember that Grind Switching too fast will throw you off and insta-bail you. Also, in the video I don't keep count of how many Manual Reverts and Grind Switchs I do, I just did them anywhere I felt I could squeeze them in. I haven't found any tricks to the challenges in this game, it just takes a lot of patience, fast reflexes and quick thinking.

I haven't played the game yet, but is the one that you're showing us in the video really harder than landing all perfects on the level?

Oh my, yes. Landing perfects is as simple as either grinding, landing or doing a manual right as you hit the ground. These are done by either pressing a direction on the stick for the grind, pressing A as you land or pressing a direction and a as you hit the ground. Alternatively, to do a revert manual, you must press a bumper and a as you touch the ground and then press either back or forward at just the right time or else it'll only be a revert. As for grind switching, you have to get a perfect grind and then switch it with a direction and A.

The true reason it's so hard is that you must do 9 of each without breaking your combo from beginning to end. Sorry for such a long reply, just trying to cover everything. Landing all perfects on any level is not as hard simply because you can break your combo without a problem.

No, I appreciate the long reply. Thanks for being so informative. I'm looking forward to starting this.

Feel free to message me for tips and tricks on any bit of this game. I am a glutton for details, so if you want to know exactly how something works in a game, I can probably tell you. Good luck.

Hm, I rarely hit 720 Flip and Double Laser Flip, that's my main issue with the Pro challenges. Not sure if there's something about the input I don't do right or a controller issue (tried doing it slow, fast, releasing everything at the same time, holding bumper, pushing bumper a bit later etc). Manual Reverts and Grind Switches aren't really much of an issue and more about learning a stage.

See, that's weird to me. Maybe it's because I played the Skate. series. The thing that made that challenge so hard Ro me was the Manual Reverts. The Grind Switches weren't bad because I've been doing them the whole game, but I NEVER used Manual Reverts unless the game made me.

I figured it out ^ you’re meant to hold down the shoulder button the entire time - so hold down shoulder button, do the motion of the trick, then let go of shoulder button after jumping

Lastly to add on, if anyone is like me and struggled much more with getting the scores on some of the pro challenges, specifically the last level, I recommend skipping to the last level after finishing all amateur and a few pro challenges to get your skill up as that score on the level requires near perfection. It’s really good for mastering revert manuals (totally viable to use across all pro levels even tho it’s awkward at first) and incorporating maximum spin into every single trick. You get extra multiplier for holding RB into your tricks, it’s essential to learn to get the scores in the pro challenges. If u can get the x135 and 5 mil on that level u can do anything else in the game

The last challenge left for me. After finally managing getting the 5 million points in the last level without my fingers falling off my hands are now way too shaky to pull it off. Good thing the second to last level prepares you for what's to come.

i’m having trouble getting some of the LB input tricks specifically to work out of a grind. For example, the smith grind to frontside big spin challenge on Underground railroad. And it only seems to trigger the frontside big spin instead of the frontside shove it about 10% of the time, so it’s not registering my LB inputs. You’re meant to input LB right when you jump, right?
