You’ll find these little red guys in the fifth area called “Lake Ober”

The counter is total time spent surfing with them so you don’t have to do it in one go, or you can just surf in a circle until you get it

Just popped this. And yes, it must be total time, because I kept losing them and had to run/surf back to them and keep going. Did this maybe like eight to ten times and it popped.

For people going back to this via chapter select, Lake Ober is the second area in the chapter The Rift, after Sag'ya Valley.

Scipuins are only found in Chapter 5: Lake Ober (see Lake Master for more information). As soon as you enter the level and the region title appears overhead, directly in front of you will be a group of 3 Scipuins. These are creatures that greatly resemble red weasels or ferrets. Approach them and use Surf (

) by them and they will join you. Surf around for 30 seconds and the trophy will pop. Your best bet is to just surf in circles, that way you won't accidentally go too far ahead of them and preemptively break the Surf timer.
