How to unlock the The Name of that Sea is... achievement in ONE PIECE: PIRATE WARRIORS 4 - Definitive Guide
It should be noted that everyone on this list is not as dangerous as others. For example, I barely started and was almost killed by Doflamingo and Crocodile. Keep the big guys separated whenever you can or else you'll find yourself getting overwhelmed by abilities and damage. You don't want to get sucked into Blackbeard's black holes while Kaido is beating the tar out of you.
At the bare minimum, you need to have Doctor's Tactics (Restores life when using a special move). This skill is critical since there's no guarantee that killing an officer gets you a health item. You can use attack skills or move enhancements although they aren't needed.
I used Luffy for this Episode since you unlock the most stuff for him by playing the story. His two form changes (Snakeman and Bounceman, don't use Gear 2) count as specials and each of those forms has three special moves that deal great damage. In each area, go for the normal enemies between move cooldowns so you always have damage/reserve health ready to go. If you are unable to use the normal enemies for special charge, then equip the skill Captain's Wisdom (Gradually restores Special Move gauges).
If you can get someone to run this level with you, then do it. It'll make the level move much faster with two players. It took me half an hour to finish this alone.
Extra: I'm not sure if your allies on this level are random or not. My run had Usopp and Niji. Skills like Giant Killer, Herculean Strength, Cheat Death/Undying, or Hero's Strength/Physique might be helpful based on the descriptions. I can't really say because I didn't use them..
"Robin", with her states almost at max, has no trouble tackling two bosses at a time (while I have trouble doing that with Luffy). Her normal attack of pressing x, x, x, x, x was insane at destroying the boos shield and quickly building up her super. This keeps boss at constant vulnerable state most of the time.
Special move set - not as important as the skills below
Cien Fleur: Wing
Mil Fleurs Gigantesco Mnao Stomp
Cuerpo Fleur (Buff)
Treinta Fleur: Rondo
Skill slot:
- Resilience (prolong the buff time of "Cuerpo Fleur) - get from Bege
- Indomitable Spirit (heal yourself while you are buff) - get from Zoro
- Herculean Strength (make it easy to destroy boss shield/armor)
- (X) attack enhancement or Pursuit
Bonus point: Playing as pretty girl instead of ugly pirates.
Once you've finally unlocked the decisive battle, do this also in online mode. The challenge of utilizing the online features of the game may make it hard to join in one specifically, but just keep trying until you manage to get in and then focus your best on base captures and keeping your abilities full and/or active. Full-Force Burst will help you with enemy Break Gauges, and once they're done, start unleashing with your strongest abilities or combos to sweep the field. Akainu, Katakuri, Kaido, Law, Luffy, Doflamingo; those are the more common characters I saw that late in the Treasure Log, and depending on how far you've unlocked their maps and upgrades, that may help immensely when trying to stand on the higher level maps.
Even if you finally unlock and finish the deciding battle in the New World, this won't be your last trophy unlocked. However, the majority of missions within the New World TL difficulty will award anywhere from 1m berries on up and would still be suggested as the best place to fight. Work your way down the Treasure Log entries and take them on, one at a time, to cherish what will await you at the end.
I played as Law for the most part in TLs. His Scan ability/combo makes the enemies affected by it take additional damage while affected. FFB removes this effect from commanders, but using FFB himself will expand his ROOM to allow for a wider coverage of damage. Equip skills that increase your damage and duration in FFB for a greater effect/benefit, and make sure you're using skills that increase your Break Gauge damage or damage to giant enemies; there will be plenty of uses of both of these features in the later challenges that you will desire a quicker outcome against your enemies with.
This is the hardest trophy in the game, which is actually not that hard as long as you prepare beforehand. Before attempting this, you should have a character completely maxed with all skill slots and level 18 stats. This deciding battle episode will have you fighting against several enemy boss factions such as the Navy, Revolutionary Army, Whitebeard pirates, Seven Warlords, and Four Emperors. They will be very strong so make sure you go in with a well-equipped character. Personally, I made the fight extremely easy with this setup:
- I used New World Luffy with all Growth Maps maxed out
- I equipped him with the special moves Gear four: Bounceman, Gear four: Snakeman, Full-Force Burst, and Conqueror's Haki
- I equipped him with the maxed skills Indomitable Spirit from Zoro's Growth Map, Cat Burglar from Nami's Growth Map, Captain's Wisdom from Luffy's Growth Map, and Coin Collector from Bartolomeo's Growth Map. (I only equipped Cat Burglar and Coin Collector to increase Beri earnings so you can swap those for skills that increase attack)
This setup will make you practically invincible since you essentially possess 3 different Full-Force Bursts, and the maxed Indomitable Spirit skill will make you recover health at a very fast rate. What's also good is, since the standard Full-Force Burst doesn't change your moveset, you can use it to recharge your Gear Four skills easily while keeping your health regeneration. This basically gives you non-stop fast health regeneration throughout the episode.
Alternatively, if you have Playstation Plus, you can recruit another player and hope to have them carry you through the episode. Either way, you will earn this trophy after Shanks is defeated and you win the battle.
Gear Fourth: Bouncy Man, Gear Fourth: Snake Man, I Will Become the Pirate King. Back it all up with Unsurpassed Strength and Indomitable Spirit.
As soon as HP drops to a dangerous level, you can run away from bosses and hit small enemies until one of the skills is gained, after which you can safely activate it and replenish HP.
