How to unlock the Fall's Flight achievement in Onimusha: Warlords - Definitive Guide
This achievement is a lot simpler than many of the video guides I've seen floating around YouTube. To gain this simply start a new game. Progress past the first bridge. This is where you will see the geese in just a moment.
Fight your way past the first wave of soldiers that are attacking a small fort, and enter the first building. Watch the cut scene of the soldier that locks the door, making you fight more enemies. Kill them and return to the bridge.
I found that you had to stand in precisely the right spot and hold to get this to work. Here's an image of me at the location, with the geese flying by
I can confirm that you do not need to progress to the hole that you can jump down. You can take damage. You do need to hold . And that's all there is to it.
Edit: as Tashyne 22 points out in the comments, you have to be facing the sunset for this to work.

Been trying this for 5 minutes and no geese. Even continued to the cut scene after the guys open the gate and went back but nothing.

At the beggining of the game, you will pass by a bridge with a sunset on the back and a bubch of dead samurais, just pass it and continue on until you enter a cave and theres a big hole that you can jump to, dont jump yet, go back to that bridge, stand on the right side so you can see the sunset and make Samanosuke face the sunset and press and hold (O), and in about 20 to 30 seconds you should see the birds and the trophy.
**MISSABLE**
At the start of the game after your second fight (where you get left in the room to die) you will speak to three samurai. After this cutscene plays turn around and walk back into the room you just left and then continue until you reach the small bridge you crossed in order to reach the first fight in the game.
At this point stand in the middle of the bridge facing towards the sunset and hold your "Soul Absorb" button for about 20 - 30 seconds and a save icon will appear in the bottom left and a flock of geese will fly across the screen and your achievement will pop.

MISSABLE
Right the beginning of the game, after you get your gauntlet, keep going until a samurai locks you inside the house with some demons. After the fight, don't go see the man but go back you way you came. Now go to the bridge you just passed through and wait for the flock of geese to show up.
