How to unlock the Speed Demon achievement in Onimusha: Warlords - Definitive Guide

This is very easy. I beat the game in about 3:25 on my first blind playthrough. As long as you don't get lost (hard to do because the map is small) or dilly dally around then you should get close to this on a blind run. Once you know the basic route of the game, this is easy to do on a second run. Beating the game is under 3 hours is also one of the requirements for the S rank achievement.

Does pausing (pressing the back button) add to the timer? These answers should be added to the solution..

I can confirm that by pressing cn_back, it will pause the in-game clock. On my second playthrough, I was able to beat the game in exactly 2:00 and that was including me picking up all the maps, files, and jewels. With everything memorized, the game can be beaten VERY quickly and you have plenty of time to pick up any or all collectibles along the way. But I strongly suggest completing the Oni Spirits mini-game first. This way, you'll have the Bishamon Sword and Infinite Magic after starting a New Game on Ultimate difficulty. This will make the speedrun much easier.

During your speedrun, you can even make plenty of backup saves for the S Rank achievement to save yourself an extra playthrough. Just be sure to save before using the Great Arrow to open the Demon Gate. Then after beating the game, you can simply reload your save and grind out the remaining souls and kills in the Demon World, beat the game, and you'll get the Pro-nimusha achievement lickety split!

MISSABLE

Onimusha is pretty small game, when you know where you have to go, what’s necessary and what isn’t. Doing this playthrough in ultimate difficulty is recommended. This will short you one whole playthrough. Don’t attempt this at your first time with the game. Make through it at your time and try to memorize some puzzles and bosses. If you feel uncomfortable to attempt it in ultimate difficult, just make a new playthrough after this. You can beat the game in around 2 hours if you now what to do.
