When I completed the game, my tracker was at 62%, so I figured I had two options:
1) Play through the game again.
2) Go around in circles on any level with a decent size starting area.
Fortunately, after getting so bored with circling around that I thought my brain might implode, I started looking through the levels for one on which I could just go in one direction and not hit a wall. 7-6 is that level.
Basically, what you're aiming to do is hold
, and go in one direction so that your ship travels in a wave pattern as the sphere tilts back and forth. It'll take a bit of tweaking to get it down properly so that you don't hit any of the slow-down floor panels, but if you've made it to 7-6, chances seem pretty good that you can handle it.

You do need to finish the level for the progress to update. Also the game seemed to reset me at around the 9 minute mark, so you can't just leave it on indefinitely. I still got credit after a reset if I just finished the level again. Still the 7-6 method is the way to go!

This is cumulative across all the levels throughout the game. On the bottom left of the screen, you'll notice a distance meter that ticks up as you play. This tracks how many meters you have travelled, not miles. This will more than likely unlock naturally as you'll undoubtedly have to replay a handful of levels to the the Triple-O rating on them but if you don’t have it by the time you complete the game, just start up any level and aimlessly fly around for a few. As soon as you reach 250 miles, the trophy will unlock.
Note: You do have to either restart or complete a level for the mileage to be added to your total. The trophy won't unlock while you're in the middle of the level.
