How to unlock the Lifer achievement in Operation Flashpoint: Red River - Definitive Guide
There are 6 core skills;
- Sprint
- Endurance
- Battle Readiness
- Assault Rifle Handling
- Assault Rifle Training
- Tactical Awareness
Each skill can be upgraded up to rank 10 and you start out with one rank. To allocate core skill points, choose the "Player Progress" main menu option. To gain skill points you will need to complete missions or Fireteam Engagements. Depending on how well you do you will gain medals. Depending on the medal colour you will gain up to three points which are cumulative per mission and do not stack. The following table gives the requirements to get a gold medal on campaign missions.
You will always get bronze if you succeed the mission, silver if you also complete all secondary objectives which must be accomplished before tackling the main objective they are posted under. To see the objective hierarchy, press start during the missions. Completing the main objective will result in all uncompleted secondary objectives to fail. In some rare cases, secondary objectives are times and rely on scripted events. In those cases it is usually sufficient to pay close attention to orders and not rush ahead.
To get a gold medal and the maximum of points you will need to complete all secondary objectives and complete the mission in a certain time frame. Here are the time frames in minutes. Times were compiled based on personal experience and those of a few friends.
For Fireteam Engagements the requirements are slightly different. There is a score threshold you need to reach in addition to completing the mission.
Combat Sweep
Remember that you get a score multiplier depending on how fast you are. You will see the multiplier on your lower left hand HUD if you have the HUD enabled.
CSAR
Last Stand
Remember that you have to evacuate once you have reached the target score for it to count. If you fail the mission all score is lost.
Rolling Thunder
Once you have gotten gold on every campaign mission and Fireteam Engagement, allocate all points and confirm to unlock the achievement.
Information regarding DLC missions
Many thanks to XboxFreak36 who confirmed that missions from the DLC will not earn you points to spent on your core soldier skills!

+1!!! I would have given you +10 if I could. This is the way guides should been written: good presentation, good layout and excellent punctuation. I also noticed you have been listening to my comments during the games we had :-)

Perfecto - just want to echo what Replicant said - perfect solution - clarifies everything - I can't vote at all because I placed my own solution - even though I have now deleted it - TA rules i guess [sigh]

As mentioned above you need to gold every mission (campaign and FTEs).
Bronze = Finish the mission.
Silver = Finish the mission with all objectives complete.
Gold = Finish the mission with all objectives complete and in the time limit.
The time limits for each mission are:
Mission 1 = 27 minutes
Mission 2 = 40 minutes
Mission 3 = 45 minutes
Mission 4 = 51 minutes
Mission 5 = 60 minutes
Mission 6 = 55 minutes
Mission 7 = 60 minutes
Mission 8 = 60 minutes
Mission 9 = 60 minutes
Mission 10 = 75 minutes
Bronze = Finish the mission.
Silver = Finish the mission with all objectives complete.
Gold = Finish the mission with all objectives complete and in the time limit.
The time limits for each mission are:
Mission 1 = 27 minutes
Mission 2 = 40 minutes

Thanks for the times

For Mission 5 I just want to add that you need to have atleast a 2:30 time interval to that 60 minutes because the cutscene at the end counts toward that time. We failed the target time because of that.

Every class has 6 skills. Every skill starts at level 1 and the max level is 10. Points needed in order to rise these skills are gained from completing the missions and FTE maps by getting gold/silver/bronze (gold = 3 points/silver = 2 points/bronze = 1 point). You need 54 points in total to rise all 6 skills (this means you need to get gold in all missions and all FTE maps). Its not so hard, but can take a while.
This guide was translated automatically.
To max out all 6 basic skills, you need to earn 54 medals.

Medals for missions from the add-on do not add points for leveling up. Therefore, be sure to complete all main missions for gold.
