In order to may out three core soldier skills you need to have gained 27 skill points. Core skill points are gained from completing campaign missions or Fireteam Engagements. The medal you get after finishing the mission determines how many skill points you get. You will be awarded three points for getting gold, two points for silver and one point for bronze.
To allocate core skill points, choose the "Player Progress" main menu option. Remember that you can reset your skills with
so no need to save them up or put them all on three skills from the beginning.
