How to unlock the Rule #4 achievement in Operation Flashpoint: Red River - Definitive Guide

This Achievement is 'Rule #4' watch your bullet drop. Now i created the video below which shows you how to get this. you are required to get a kill on a enemy who is over 1000m away. the best place for this is during mission 6 (night level) on top of the hill just after you regroup and are told to provide cover for Alpha team. using a thermal scope, Pull out your sniper and aim in between North and NorthEast and you should see some enemies very far away. if you scout level is high enough you can unlock the velocity muzzle perk which decreases the bullet drop, but if you dont you need to aim on the second or third dot down on the Scope. Without any improvements you can hit the targets as well. You need to aim higher of course but you should be good at about 13 1/2 on your angle.

Do you have to be the sniper for this? I've killed the guy in the bunker about 5 times now from the same place you do and it's still not unlocked. I'm playing as a Grenadier using the Model M107 that you pick up at the beginning of the mission.

I did it last night with an M16 Assault rifle, single shot, night vision and AP rounds (about 10-15 tries). I was so happy I forgot the notice how many notches I needed to move up...

One of the devs from Code Masters chimed in on their website forum and stated the distance only has to be > 650m. http://community.codemasters.com/forum/general-discussion-13...

I pulled it off right at the start I took out the 4 guys at the beginning near the bridge then made my way up the mountain to the right until the enemies in the distance were merely dots thru my scope then proceeded to pick them off with the muzzle perk eventually I dropped one from 1000m and the achievement unlocked.

Just unlocked this on Mission 8 whilst making my way to the base of the tower, firing at enemies no more than 250m away from me, a fluke shot that also caused my xbox to crash. Good solution though, i was planning on doing it this way once i'd beat the game.

legend, takes a bit to get to the view spot, its after you call for the air strike when you regroup with alpha.

Thanks for the video! It seemed i was always too close until i tried climbing up the side of the mountain. I got this without any special perks- just used the m107 available near the beginning of the level.

As the other comments, tried the other videos and they weren't working. I wasn't even scout class, I did this with auto rifleman grabbing M107! Thanks mate! :)

I tried both British Legends and DreamKiller SKX s' guides. The tough part is finding targets far enough away. I was hitting targets but not getting the achievement. In retrospect, it is well worth bringing Binoculars with it's range finder. Look North - NorthEast from the vantage point. There are many targets here in a diagonal line bottom-left to to-right; the the top-right-most is the farthest and unlocks the achievement.

In order to get this, you must kill a target from a great distance, usually more than 1000m(?). Try to aim above their head, so that you get the illution the bullet drops. AT weapons can also be used to get this; the last missions is a great opportunity.
