How to unlock the Elite achievement in Ori and the Blind Forest - Definitive Guide
This one is pretty straight forward. Ability Points are what you use when you create a spirit link and press by it to upgrade your skills. You'll still get the achievement even if you accidentally hit by a spirit link so long as you don't actually spend an Ability Point on an upgrade.
Though straight-forward, this can be challenging because the latter areas of the game have pretty tough enemies, and without the upgrades to your attack abilities they are sponges, soaking up quite a bit of damage. Not to mention making spirit links is more expensive and doesn't restore your HP when you make them.
The key is to explore the map as much as possible to get all of the Health and Spirit Energy orbs. It will help immensely to have more health and spirit energy toward the end of the game. Also, be judicious with when/where you use your spirit links later on. If you have plenty of energy, use one so you don't lose tons of progress if you die. If you're running low, you're going to need to try to stretch that energy between saves as much as possible.
The achievement unlocks during the final cut scene.
Update: the bug has been patched! If it didn't unlock for you and you still have a No Abilities save before the end, you can finish the game on that save again and unlock it as the patch is retroactive for all existing saves as well as new ones. Cheers!

I don't blame be game. I blame the developers. It is absolutely their fault. If I can copy/save files so the game can't register my death counter then I should be able to do this. For one, if the criteria for an achievement is "don't do x and y" and you go ahead and don't do x and y, I don't care how many times you copy/paste a file...in none of those files did did you do anything to "break" the achievement. The ironic part is I died a bunch in my frustration during my speed run/no dying run. Game didn't glitch that achievement for me. So, yeah, I absolutely blame the developers because it is, to me, completely out of my hands. Furthermore, the whole "you can't have any file with an ability point used" theory pisses me off because under that implication, anyone and everyone who plays the game has to play without using an ability point all the way through the very first time they ever play the game, OR they have to suffer the consequences and delete everything completely and hope that this fixes an error that shouldn't have occurred in the first place. This is absolutely fixable, and I tell you what, it sure as shit isn't my responsibility to fix it. It may sound harsh, but I'm not a big fan of being effed out of stuff because of things that are out of my control. That being said, sorry if this feels like an attack on you or the developers but I'm just venting my frustrations.

Could be a potential bugged achievement.
I was doing this and the Supersonic achievement at the same time on 2 different saves.
Supersonic unlocked
however this one did not.
I did open the abilities list a few times just to make sure I didn't spend any points during the session but as LifeExpectancy said it doesn't seem to have an effect on it.
After noticing it didn't activate I quit out of the game during the credits to try the last scene again however the save was locked in its completed state.
I did lose internet connection half way through the game but I was saving and quitting multiple times to switch between saves, this might have had an effect on it however it is very unlikely.
I have spurs of achievement hunting and find it very rewarding, but when you spend 4 hours and gain nothing it sadly kills your motivation for it very quickly.
Fingers crossed nobody runs into this problem.

For the most efficient use of your time I recommend doing all the difficult achievements in the same run. Immortal-No deaths , Elite-no abilities points used and Supersonic-complete game under 3 hours.
For this reason I will be going over tips concerning all three achievements in this.
First thing you need to understand is the generous save system makes what would otherwise be a couple very difficult achievements nothing more than an exercise in saved game management. There are 10 save slots in the main menu where you choose to continue your game use them and abuse them. The game allows you to copy and paste your current save between these 10 different save slots so During your play-through if you spend too much time because you do not know where to go next or you die simply use one of your copied saves to reload and try again until you are happy with how quick you got through a section. This is the key to doing all 3 achievements in one go.
The following information MAY contain slight spoilers.
I Recommend doing this after your initial playthrough of the game. The basic idea is to run through the story as quick as possible only taking extra time to gather nearby energy or life cells. However be sure to take the extra time needed to find all secrets and items in the areas which can not be revisited if possible. The three areas for main concern are the ginsa tree, misty woods and forlorn ruins each contain secret areas that cannot be gotten later, if youre going for the no stone unturned achievement as well be sure to get all these before you leave these areas.
WARNING!! The Elite and no stone unturned achievement (finding all secret locations) seems to be bugged For this reason NEVER EVER spend points on abilities during the run or risk it not unlocking , it also may be advisable to delete any previous saves and start as fresh as possible prior to attempting this run.I experienced the glitch and am currently starting everything from scratch now to see if it works.
Spending time in the pause menu or the ability tree menu does NOT count against your playtime so don't feel rushed when looking at the map however Cutscenes use up precious time so be sure to skip them whenever possible by hitting pause then select "skip cutscene". Also in the pause menu it shows your current playtime and next to that is your death counter , if ever your counter shows anything higher than zero go into your save game backups and reload the nearest save. It is wise to keep an eye on this during your game as sometimes autosaves can be very quick after a death.
If you have spare energy cells Charged attacks will take down the enemies much faster than tapping. Getting extra energy cells is always worthwhile Specifically against the mini bosses that leap out of the ground and spit at you. They take awhile to kill until you get the bash ability.
Starting at forlorn ruins enemies become increasingly more difficult for the no ability speed run, it is always quicker to dispatch enemies by using bash (by holding ) to shoot their own projectiles back at them rather then using spirit flame (tapping ) or wasting energy cells using charged flame (holding ).
Make sure to keep a save PRIOR to entering the ginsa tree , misty woods for the first time , forlorn ruins and Mt.Horu... All these areas have secrets which cant be accessed again.
Here I will list my playtimes at certain points in the game so you may better judge how you are doing overall. I will also list how many life cells and energy cells i found on the way though i missed many.
At 11 min I had 1life cell and 1 energy cell at spirit well (save point) in hollow grove directly in front of spirit tree
30 min 2LC 3EC door before entering ginsa tree
42 min 2LC 4EC after completing ginsa tree and collecting all 4 secrets. (thanks JayD101 for confirming)
53 min 2LC 5EC save is before misty woods by lantern alter 4 secrets in misty woods
1:08 2LC 6EC door before entering forlorn ruins 3 secrets inside ruins
1:30 3LC 7EC Final Ori ability charge jump obtained
1:42 5LC 9EC door to enter Mt.Horu this is final area so be sure to make a few saves at this point so you can return and get the rest of the missing life cells, energy cells and hidden sections you may have missed on the general map. There is I believe 5 secrets inside the final area Mt.Dori so your no stone unturned achievement tracker should be 90% prior to entering( not sure if this number is exact).Again this achievement may be glitched for you until a patch.
2:02 final confrontation w owl started
Game completed at 2:06
Achievements pops just as
during final sequence.
Hope this helps, I will be updating this guide with more information as I compile it, also if anyone would like videos of any speedrun no death sections please request them and i will add them. If you experience any glitches or bugs please email the developer at feedback@moongamestudios.com so that we may get a patch sooner. Thanks to smallywood for the email.

WARNING: Before attempting this achievement, make sure you do not have any other save files active. The achievement for purchasing no abilities appears to be glitchy, in that it seems to search all your save files, and if you have any save file where you have purchased an ability, the achievement will not unlock for the save file where you didn't. Having only one active playthrough will avoid this.
To unlock this achievement, all you need to do is avoid purchasing an ability at the upgrade menu inside of a spirit link. Once you complete the game without any extra abilities, the achievement will unlock.

At the moment, the achievement is slightly buggy and it is not clear what breaks it, but here are a few assumptions from foreign forums.
It is best to get this achievement on the 3rd playthrough after receiving
Master Guardian / True Guardian
Powerhouse / Powerful player
To know almost by heart where the energy cells and life cells are, since the enemies become stronger at the end of the game, and your attacks without pumping are very weak, then life and mana will not be superfluous.
- You cannot enter the skill tree at all (press the button during a spiritual connection)
- You cannot make a backup copy of your save and play from it.

I received it yesterday, there are no glitches, they probably fixed it. As the game progressed, I went into the skill tree, but didn’t invest points. I made a backup copy of the save, but did not use it.
