How to unlock the Shard Specialist achievement in Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Definitive Guide
For this achievement you need to upgrade all shards, other guides explain very good what to do..
I just want to share my easy method to make spirit lights without moving

Don’t leave Ori alone
sometimes the enemy will change movement and could hit you, death causes losing shards gained.

Method I used on 4/20/20. I was only getting 50 light for the shield guy in Baur's Reach and 28 light for the grub you knock in water in Kwolok's. This one is much easier (quicker 16 light per death, just have to be nearby in case enemy clips Ori on fall).

Still works in November 2021. Make sure you have the shard equipped that makes enemies respawn faster.

I would like to start that while I'm the first to put this guide on here I didn't figure this out myself, there were a couple of articles on the web which I can't remember the name of that pointed out which enemy to farm. Although, by the time I wrote this the rewards have been reduced by a patch already.
To upgrade shards speak to a creature called Twillen in the left-most part of the Wellspring Glades. He will upgrade your shards for a price. Upgrading shards are quite expensive, especially as there is a multitude of other things to buy from various merchants in Wellspring Glades.
However, there is a way to grind out a high amount of light and that is to face a certain enemy in Baur's Reach. Just by the first Spirit Well, drop down the left until you reach a cauldron near the bottom. An enemy with a large hammer and shield will be there. I'll put a screenshot for the location at the bottom of the guide. You can use a number of tactics to fight him but once killed he drops around 300-400 spirit at a time. Within 10 minutes I had managed to accumulate 15K which was more than enough to upgrade all shards. The enemy respawn quite quickly and the furthest I had to walk to trigger a respawn, if it wasnt with a few seconds, was to walk over to the cauldron.
Abilities I used are below.
This was the last thing I did so I had maxed my health and spirit mana and already upgraded all my abilities. Helpful abilities are: Light Burst, Spike and Spirit Smash for attaching; Burrow and Launch for manoeuvrability.
Launch is particularly helpful for when you need to return to the Spirit Well for healing and saving.
I also had the following shards equipped, which would definitely be more helpful upgraded but I did this with them not upgraded. Light Harvest, Turmoil, Bounty and Spirit Surge
Screenshots for the location of the enemy.

You forgot to mention how to make him respawn?

Sorry, he respawns pretty much straight away. If he doesn't I just walked over to the cauldron and he respawned. I'll add that in. Thanks.

Please refer to "Shard Hunter" for details.

I found the perfect place to farm orbs (maybe a glitch, but after restarting the game it still worked).
Let's find this place
We stand here with fragments turned on for increased receipt of spheres and rapid revival of enemies
kill the nearest monster, it is reborn and immediately runs into spikes - profit.
Farm as much as you need in 10 minutes

Also, to speed up farming, I advise you to first pump up the “Turret” skill, then take another fragment for additional drops of energy spheres and spam the turret, thereby the mob running on top will also periodically die and give additional spheres of spiritual light.

In case you didn’t have enough spiritual light during the game’s plot, I found a way to quickly farm: put fragments of Adventure (x2 amount of light received), Confusion (fast respawn of enemies), a couple of fragments for increased damage, for example Recklessness, Vitality, Wave spirits We go to the Leeward Wasteland location, find a worm in the sand, spam it with a quick RB attack. We get about 300 units of light, crawl away not far, the worm respawns. We repeat. 10,000 in 10 minutes!
